NV215 has landed!!!!

Congrats, and welcome to the club! What number is your cab, my tolex NV215 is number 215B1004. I've been looking into the Aguilar DB750 head for this cab, if I don't go ALL tube, and you may have just helped me make my decision. :bassist:

215B1017. This head has never sounded so good. The only cab that sounded as good w/ the DB750 was the HT322 which I sold like an idiot:crying: Lovin this cab though! Very responsive for a 2/15

I would think this cab sounds better with the DB750 than the HT322... tighter in the lows, less modern up top. Nice! That's one heck of a 'modern/vintage' rig right there!

The 610 has more cut and punch but the 215 envelops everthing within a three block radius. They're different but very complementary cabinets.

Yeah, together they'd make one serious rig. I'd just have to decide which one to get as a standalone though as both would be serious overkill for my needs and probably just about everyones needs :D

Hopefully I'll get to try out the 610 soon...

Thanks for your help.

I've had the NV425 Cab for over a year. It's been matched up with a Genz Benz head but about 2 months ago I picked up a Traynor YBA 200. A match made in heaven, I can't believe how good that cabs sounds with tube power.

No problem. The 610 is like the sonic equivalent of a karate kick directly in the chest. The 215 is more like a bear hug from a Sumo wrestler. They're both realy effective but with slightly different approaches.

Hope that helps.

I have 215B1000. I played it last night with my V4 outside at a pool party and it sounded so sweet. I recorded the show with my Edirol R-09 setting about 10 feet in front of us. After listening to it this morning I think it was the best tone I have ever had! Wish I couldve brought the SVT for its first gig with me, but decided the V4 would be less overkill. LOVE my NV!

SIDE NOTE:

I would also say that the 70's V4 is a great tube head for someone looking for some tubey goodness at a reasonable cost, and the Edirol r-09 is simply amazing. If it broke, I would buy another one. Its that good. You can really hear your tone from the audiences perspective with this. I record every performance I am a part of.

The NV215 is, hands down, my all-time favorite bass cab. IMO it's the perfect balance of full, smooth, punchy, and articulate. I particularly love the smoothness of the 6" paper cone versus the more common horn tweeter. Pairing it up with a Carvin B1500 has controlled my rock amp GAS for quite some time now.
