Ocean found 400 miles below earth's surface.

Cool article. Where there's water, I wonder if it may contain life. Perhaps species exist within the sub-Earthly extreme heat and other elements. And if species exist there, maybe some manage to find routes into our main oceans.

This also brings to mind the extreme pressure that must exist in the water discussed in the article. In our normal waters, there is already extreme pressure in the furthest depths of the ocean.

Im not sure what constitutes an "ocean" I think it should be called a very large pool of water. There are rivers that have a hole in the ground that they disappear into, they send transmitters down them and never hear from them again, perhaps this is where they end up.

With our endless pursuit to find more re-newable clean alternative energy I wonder if we're actually looking at water pressure as a viable source. Water pressure is a force that can be converted into energy. At 5 miles deep in the ocean, it's roughly 11,300 (PSI) pounds per square inch. That's a lot of force/energy just laying around.

At 400 miles, the pressure is roughly 450 tons per square inch.

Lemme guess, you failed maths? All that water pressurised by more water above contains no latent energy at all.

LOL! hahaha! I know, crazy idea and "thinking outside of the box". But, I actually majored in math and minored in physics in college. Water pressure is a potential energy source that's "just there" waiting for us to harness. And, there is a Norwegian company, that I just found, who is working on doing so. Here's an article:

And another article, not exactly using ocean water pressure but water pressure in general :
