Octave pedal with a switch for each octave, does it exist?

You could do this easily with two Subnups. Set one for low octave and the other for high octave.

You'll need an ABY if you want both at the same time, and that would allow you to control with only one box.

It's a Nano POG that Kinnatone modded. You can set either foot switch to whatever you want and switch between the two. You can't however run both sides at the same time. It's similar to the JHS Quadrapog.

I’m not aware of an octave pedal configured that way, but it makes a ton of sense and I would sure as hell buy one if they exist!

I get the desire for this functionality. For some applications, the octave up sounds right, for others the octave down is better. I have a Pog nano which is very versatile, but I don't like having to crawl around on the floor to swap pedal settings. I solved by simply adding a second octave pedal to my board.

Not that I've tried them all, but I think most octave ups sound very "organy" in the higher registers

PS-The pedal is amazing. Best octave tracking I've tried and the telegraph switches are perfect. Sounds like exactly what you need.

I really like the idea of this pedal, but I can't say I'm all-in on the hipster vibe and the super-boutique pricing that goes with it. If they offered this in a more pedestrian get-up at a lower price for those of us that fart dust, I'd jump on it.

I agree. They should make a simple version of the pedal in a more standard box. I would certainly be all over that. I’m sure someone will clone it sooner or later.

Maybe too large and overkill but, the Electro Harmonix Hog 2 has lots of options for octaves with a footswitch available.

The original Hog pops up online sometimes, and so does the six-preset footswitch. It would be a piece of cake to have three of those patches be octave-down, octave-up, and both. The preset switch is kinda keeping me from even wanting to try the Hog2.

I use it. Switchable, yes but not with the foot I'm afraid... unless you have no shoes on.

I made myself a bootleg of this with an OC-2 and EQD Tentacle. I also have a Canyon on the board but the POG octave up has a super clicky attack to my ears and the low oct isn't exactly punchy.

I was thinking about doing the tentacle and adding a sub bass pedal. How do you like the tracking of the tentacle?

Doesn't really 'track' per se. It works on a cool electronics trick where you can use a ring mod circuit and have the frequency be its own carrier, essentially doubling the frequency and increasing the octave. In reality is great, adds some interesting overtones that drift into cleaner octave up territory with smooth playing / high on the fretboard / neck pup. It can also be gnarly and give very fuzzy and ring mod sounding overtones when you put chords or double stops through it.

I’m looking online, and I could build 2 clone kits in the same box and wire them up in series. One is the green ringer octave up, and the other is an MXR blue box fuzz/octave down. I would want to remove the fuzz though.

The blue box would be my last choice for octave down.
It's not bad per se but it is a very peculiar one. You could try one at a store near you, they are usually available.

I think I've narrowed it down to 3 options

1. FoxRox Octron2 (hard to find)
2. EHX Micro POG and have it modded by Kinnatone to have 2 channels (one for each octave)
3. Walrus Luminary (uses presets, but I can save up to 4, and could have one for each possible octave setup. and tracking seems great) (edit: just read on walrus’ site that it doesn’t work with the strymon zuma power supply that I have).
