Offical B.C. Rich Club!

Does anyone know of a universal ATA hard case for the BC Rich Celtic Virgo Bass? It’s about 49” long. I’m thinking the case has to be about 50.5” outer diameter to have the bass fit. So far the longest bass case I have found was 49” outer diameter.

Thanks for any info,
Mojo

Mojo66. Id just wait till the BC Rich cases become available again. They are being redone due to some sort of dispute with coffin cases. And the custom fitted ones where not being stocked by BC Rich either. New line is supposed to be regular rectangle cases. Last time I tried to get case for my warlock bass a couple months ago, I heard from several sources that stocked their cases that nothing was available untill bc rich redoes their case line. I'm currently just uses the BC Rich deluxe bass gig bag with some extra padding added to the ends.

Got this bass a month ago, don't know why I waited so long to post it. It's my first BCR and I was a little nervous to find out if I'd get along with the neck. I must say I absolutely love this thing. I've gone through a few basses the past 2 years trying to find the right one and I think I've found it. This is a new NJ Deluxe warlock. They discontinued it sometime last year but this was back stock. New price was $750 but I got it for $330. Not sure what was up but the price had dropped to $400, then $380, then $360, then $340 and finally $330. An hour after I bought it the price jumped back to $750 and there's only one left. I'm dying to get a 5'er to go along with this now.

That is a wonderful looking warlock Jkkkjkhk.
Ive always wanted one of those, id love to get one of those in 5 string version. And I wish they made them reverse headstock!

I'm curious to see a reverse HS but I like it the way it is. Honestly if I were to go custom shop it'd be the same as this, just better cuts of mahogany, maple, ebony and better paint/bindings. I love the look and feel of this bass.

Nice find. I saw one a little while after I got my spalted maple paulo warlock for about that price thru amazon.com. I'm geaussing its a unmarked 2nd/b stock. The blem prob being the paint/binding you mentioned. Minor cosmetic blem for super low price is well worth it imo. Congrats on new warlock bass.

No it wasn't a 2nd or B stock, just still in stock from when it was discontinued. What I was meaning by paint and bindings is that USA uses higher quality paint and bindings. The binding is white on these but the cheap paint/clearcoat puts an ugly yellowish tint to it, and not like aging tint. USA BCR would use a nicer paint that doesn't have that problem, or at least for a while. The wood would just be nicer cuts, , the ebony would be a tighter grain, and the bindings would most likely be a nicer material, instead of just plain plastic, but maybe not.

The yellowing of the binding seems odd to me. No such effect on my paolo warlock. Though I really cant see it in your pics. I think the newer version uses abalone inlay for the binding. Not sure which Id like better for binding though. Plain white with black stripe or abalone. Your bass looks fine in the pics btw.

O, Btw thats how i got my paulo warlock. Noticed amazon had one left at nice lower price then the regular. So snatched it up. its not marked B or nothing. But it is a little lighter colored body then they normally are. This has actually grown on me a bit over time to. How the neck and body are closer to the same tone. Compared to regular mahoganys darker stain and maple. Anyway, I think we both got killer deal. Lol.

You can't see the clear coat here but here's the awesome multiply bindings and the ebony board. It's not that the clear coat has really yellowed it's, more of a slight cream but it's definitely not white. I'll try to get pics of that. But if I had a custom I'm not sure if I'd get white bindings that look white or cream.

Your paolo looks great. I was interested in them but I liked how mine had all the higher end features and for a lower cost because no ones name was on it. I'm a fan of his but I didn't want his bass. My band is in Tampa so pretty close to them, I don't need people calling me a Paolo wannabe.:D

Yes, it is the 5 string version of your's

Not sure if they make a dyed black bone, but why would you want one, the white bone would tie in perfectly with the binding;)

I like the look of the black nut. Not like it'd make a huge difference cosmetically, but if I had the choice of black vs white I'd definitely go black.

Also does anyone know the difference between the 2 wooden hardshell cases? I see the one for sale on BCR's site and on musiciansfriend has the logo on the bottom left corner. I've then seen basses that were USA custom shops and the case has the logo right in the middle. Is there any difference between them or is it probably like a age thing?

Also the wooden case vs the skb style injected, what would you guys go for? I want a nice case for my warlock but I don't want to go coffin or SKB cause they aren't fitted. It's just a big open space, I want something that's fitted to the warlock shape so it's as safe as possible.

O, Ok, I think I see what your referring to. Humm, Id say looks a little better then white would with the other inlays. Im tempted to get one of those for 2nd bass if amazon does another at reduced price, or the guitar version for 2nd guitar. lol.

The only bc rich bass case I know of on musiciansfriend is the beast one. It will fit the warlock basses but is quite a bit wider then it needs to be for warlock basses. From the indications i'm starting to get, the new hard case for zombie bass fits warlock to and isnt as big a case as the beast one. Which is wide enough youd think it was for doubleneck bass. Lol.

Sears huh? Lol. Reminds me of the 70's and the various basses, guitars, amps etc one could find in the christmass catologs. Looks like it being dropped shipped from gearhounds.com But when search there for the case it isnt in stock. Cant find. So far dean Johnsons has been the only place I could find that had some of the widow bass cases coming in. Which where to be the new case for widow and warlock basses. But new old stock fitted slim profile warlock bass case would be nice find. Like the nj series hard cases for the warlocks a decade or so ago. Lol.

Btw Derecksilloway. that is a really nice looking reverse headstock one.
