Well, this is pretty much how I expected game 1 of this series to go. Hopefully we can clean things up and pick things up for game 2. Some weird line choices too, some that just did not make sense to me. A fair amount of missed opportunities. I'm not going to be able to watch the 3rd, but man, those first two were hard to watch anyway.
I'll take it too. Grind it out with the old man leading the way. Nothing comes easy, these younger guys need to remember that.

I liked the lines tonight. I really hope Hornqvist is OK. TB has a lot that they have to work on. Hopefully the Pens can keep it up.
Phil Kessel played like a berserker. He had 10 of the Penguins 26 scoring chances and hit the crossbar twice. Ended the night with a goal and an assist and leads his team with 16 points postseason.
That postgame interview with Kessel on NBC Sports was awesome....how's your breath?

For those who didn't see it, the question referred to how Kessel was frequently sitting on the bench with his head down after finishing a shift and breathing like he just finished a marathon.
And he was embarrassed because he thought he was being called out for post game halitosis.
San Jose totally dominated St Louis tonight in a 3-0 shutout. Blues had no energy and were always a step behind. Quality chances were almost nonexistent. Elliot was lousy in goal.
Jones was impressive with back to back shutouts and 3 in the last 5 games.

The Lightning are now up 3 games to 2 with the next game on their home ice. It's certainly not over yet; but there is a good possibility we both might have to eat our words.
I've gotta' hand it to Tampa Bay though. They've made it quite a series, especially without Stamkos or Bishop available.
Yeaah.... hate to say it, but this is pretty much what I expected. Maybe the Pens can turn it around, but, maybe TBL deserves to continue on, sending the Pens home once again.
Tampa has played great and earned the last two wins, but I think the Pens can turn it around.
