I just noticed the price tag too... In this crazy world economy, the price for this amp in the US isn't that different...$1300 US from Musician's Friend or about $100 more (due to our Sales Tax (not included in the price like VAT)) if one bought it locally at a store like Guitar Center. With the Pound currently equal to $1.35 US, 1100 pounds Sterling is about $1500 US.
I've got a SVP II - pro and 2 portabass 110 cabs with eminence neo drivers. Great tone, but I don't have to tell you that.

indeed bit expensive, but i traded my old head in and it covered the full amount.
What head did you trade in for the 6 Pro? And what do you think of the new head? I know the 6 Pro has Semi-Parametric mids, and a built in compressor. I have a B4r and am really happy with it, but if I had a couple of hundred dollars I would get the 6 Pro (there is a used SLM era head, at my local music store) instead of getting a compressor ... I guess I have to wait and see if it is still there when I have the money.
i traded in a ad140b orange head, it just wasn't loud enough.
the svt pro 6 is an awesome head i love it!, it so loud, the compressor and parametric mids allow really good tone shapeing.
plus the sound is just so cool it has 6 tubes in it so it not a complete move away toneally for me as the orange was full valve.
but its a really good amp i played a pro 4 the other day and actually prefer my pro 6.
I understand that the orange wasn't loud enough, but did you know that only 17 of those heads were ever made? I think I would have kept it ... I am glad you are happy with your new head, I guess that is all that really matters. BTW is it made by LOUD Inc. or SLM? Cheers.
yeh i did know mine was number 17, would loved to have had the money to keep it but unfortunatly i didnt.
ill let you know when i get home who it made by but the pro 6 is a sweet amp

It's in great shape! Probably never left the previous owner's house (except the rubber feet from the upper corners of the back are missing which might suggest that it may have (or was kept in a road case)). From the background, it's likely that when this one leaves your house, the only one taking it will be you!
Having owned one from that era (and I think one of the two that I recently bought is too) I know it will sound great!
On that subject, I found it quite interesting that my other one (very late SLM build) is quite a bit darker in tone.

Good eye, it has spent most of it's life in a road case. As I understand it, it was one of Tim King's (SOiL) that went along for OzzFest '02
