Count me in ... just picked up a like new SVT-410HE; made in late 1997 down the road in good old St. Louis :bassist:

Tolex and grill in perfect shape; no scratches, tears, or wear.

No Neutrik Speakon Jacks - when did they start adding those?

Hey....has anyone ever successfully added a tweeter to an 810 classic??

Ampeg did...sort of using coaxial speakers.

http://www.ampeg.com/pdf/SVT810HPC.pdf

I seem to recall that they also made an 810 Classic with a separate tweeter, but I couldn't find anything on Ampeg's discontinued products site.

The problem would be that each pair of 10s is in a subenclosure and the spot that the tweeter would normally occupy is right over one of the dividers.

If you really need tweeters, how about making a separate tweeter box? Or, if you use a rack system, take a blank rack filler plate and mount a tweeter (or tweeters) to that.

Just for kicks, and since this is the Ampeg Club, I have a list of all the Ampeg gear I've ever had. Feel free to follow up with your own list. Items with a* are currently owned, everything else is obviously long gone. Just a testimonial of how much we love(d) this stuff. (all my stuff was SLM) B100R, BA112*, BA210SP, BA500, SVT100T, V4BH*, SVT 6Pro*, SVT18, SVT410HE, BXT210M, SVT15E*, and SVT210HE*.

I still own all the Ampeg stuff I ever owned except for a mid-90's SVT 3 Pro (sold it on Ebay last year), and a 73 V4B/810 that got burned up in a bar fire in 1986 or 87.
