Proud owner of a vintage SVT ('73/74). Small in the picture but oh so heavy to carry!

Andy,
oh yes its my touring rig, it works great!
nice rig! its as big as you !
andy
Bigger, actually! With the road case it weighs more than my bass and I together.
bet it sounds good tho!
andy
Sounds great - I'm playing it now through a vintage Acoustic 4x15 reflex. The weight is a serious trade-off though. If I had the budget I would add a smaller amp for gigging and leave this bad boy in the studio...
i wish that to!
would love to be able to run a 2x15/810 rig but not gonna happen until my band gets signed and also acquires some roadies! lol
also checked your stuff out! nice!

Hey ampeg club, I need some help
Can someone help me out here?
I have an ampeg SVT4pro (tons of power-maybe too much) I usually run it mono bridged to an ampeg 610. But i'd like to have a smaller cab for smaller gigs as well. I'd like to get an Aguilar (sorry if this offends anyone) DB210 8ohm cab. Will this work? and how? can I run the SVT4pro in the dual mono mode and only use one of the power amps? or is this just way too much power for the aguilar cab? Will I just have to get/use a less powerful head?
Here are the specs on each.
Aguilar db210:
Power Handling: 350 watts RMS
MAX SPL: 124 dB
Impedance: 8 ohms
AMPEG SVT4PRO:
OUTPUT POWER RATING
1600 Watts Mono-Bridged @ 4 Ohms (1200 Watts Continuous)
1200 Watts Mono-Bridged @ 8 Ohms (900 Watts Continuous)
2 x 900 Watts @ 2 Ohms (600 Watts Continuous)
2 x 625 Watts @ 4 Ohms (490 Watts Continuous)
2 x 350 Watts @ 8 Ohms (300 Watts Continuous) ** Would the BD210 be able to handle this?
Thanks in advance
if your gonna use a single 210 just use one side of the amp.
the pro puts out 350w and the cab at 8 ohms takes 350, sounds good to me?
you could have a cab on either side of the amp.
andy
That is what I thought, but I don't want to drop $700 on the cab unless i know for sure. Also, I tried running just one half of the power amp (as suggested) with a shs 410 cab I have and got no sound. Not sure what why.
Thanks for the feedback!!anybody else know?
