Thanks Lalo! It's even better now that I discovered that I had the mic right in front of the bar that goes across the speaker ;) It still sounded great mic'ed up, but I can't believe I had been micing the bar all this time...micing the actual speaker was an improvement ;)

Pretty sure that standup hooked up on that ampeg will give you a huuuggeee Sound, i can hear it now.. :bassist:

I'll be hearing it in 5 hours! And you are right...it does sound amazing. And it sounds even more amazing now that I quit running that RNC 1773 comp you see on the rack. I barely had it on when I used it, but I discovered that it was eating my sound alive.

If you don't need the volume, I highly recommend the B-15N setup!

I love my setup :-) I love Ampeg! I love Music.....

hi i have some newbie questions:

i have an ampeg ba115hpt.
is the volume knob same as the gain?
i duno if i should be using the volume knob or master knob to control my overall volume and which one i should use to crank the gain up.
also is there any benefits in cranking the tweeter L pad to max level or having it in middle?

Do you have the owner's manual? I looked and Ampeg doesn't have a link for that one online.

Generally, the Gain level is set so that when you're playing as hard as you ever will, the preamp won't overload. However since your amp has a tube on the front end, you might want to turn it up more. Basically the Master is the overall volume after you set the gain...find settings that you like and don't worry about it.

As for the tweeter level...adjust it to taste. I've never seen the back of a BA115HPT to know what the markings say.

Just wanted to share my latest custom job. Here's my highly modified SVT-1510 HE. I put a nice burgundy tolex dye on, with tan tweed grill cloth. The insides include T/S-appropriate Eminence Kappa 15 and Gamma 10 speakers. This cab can only run in biamp mode.

Though I have another thread for this beast, I thought I'd share with my Ampeg brethren :smug:

Before and after...

Now that's the best bass solo I've ever seen!!!

In college, a guitar playing friend would play a solo while running around the bar; then stop, bend a note, grab someone's beer and chug it while the note sustained (and the crowd loved it). I assumed that's kind of what you're doing...and it looks like you get to play a number of solos! ;) :D

Haha, I think it's just one of our songs where I ride one note for a bit. Figure it's the best time for some refreshment!
