I wanna join in! My current stage rig is an Ampeg PR 410 HLF and Ampeg B2-RE! I'm loving it...more than I expected!

I have a 150 watt combo amp and am looking to step it up to something a bit bigger. I've mainly been jamming or have the cabinet miked, but since I'll be playing out more, here's what I've been thinking...

I mainly like a really nice low, low end sound as my bass playing is heavily into the dub end of things. I push the bass, have almost no mid and some hi for definition. Does anyone have any comments on going with the Ampeg SVT-450H head with the SVT-410HLF cabinet?

A friend of mine had the Ampeg 8x10 and that was an adventure getting from the basement from gigs. I don't need that much, plus the Ampeg 4x10 sounds like a great choice. I'd prefer a 4x10 setup rather than using 12s or 15s, since I can always add them if I feel I need more low end. I prefer 4 ohms. Plus, I've heard the 410HLF has great low end and response.

Pointer- if I remember right, the 450H is just one of the (much cheaper) rackmount heads in a prettier cab. Forget the exact model, but you might wanna look into that.

IIRC, it is the same as the B-2RE.

Hey guys! I'm really considering buying a Ampeg SVT-CL and a SVT810E cab along with it!! It's a big investment, and I want to make sure it's the right choice?? I mainly play rock but would like to use it alittle bit for jazz too. I heard the above combination was overly boomy, is this true?

If I had the back for it I'd use a vintage SVT head. I've owned a few of those, and a number of Ampeg cabs. Right now I'm down to the SVP-Pro preamp, but hey, it counts!
