While this is a interesting idea, those PF 350 heads are so small and lightweight, I'd just get a gigbag and stow it in the car, that way you'll a avoid any potential concerns about your amp. Just a thought.

Two inches of foam is pretty thick. As you said, you probably won't be able to improve on it.

Too thick? It's not foam, it's more like slightly compressed batting. I haven't lined the walls and shelf floor but plan to experiment with it later. It is my recording/practice space amp so I should do some recordings......

Ah, I thought that it was fabric store foam. I've seen fabric store spun polyester that comes in a lot of different densities. With a lightly compresses batting, I'd go for thicker as well. The stuff that I use is pretty dense which allows it to be thinner, see below.

Whenever I experiment with linings, I find it pretty difficult to judge before and after because of the time delay in opening the amp, futzing with the material, and retrying. I feed the same song from a CD into the amp to be consistent. Then when I think that I've got it best, I do playing tests.

Thanks both of you. I have a bag from a Jazz disk (if you remember those you really date yourself) I think it will fit in as well. I'll mount the PF 800 on the cabinet the 350 is on now so as not to make holes in both.

I had a 60s B15N head that I bought for next to nothing in the early 80s and stupidly sold for a little more than that maybe 15 or 20 years ago. Reading through a lot of this thread gave me serious GAS for another as I never used that one except to rig it up to a stereo speaker and test it so I could say it worked. I'll be saving for that after this upgrade.

When at home my amp sits next to my desk in my office. My cats use it as a launch pad to jump onto my desk or the window. What are you going to do, cats aren't pets we are their pets. Right after I got it, before it was bolted down one of the geniuses decided to prove Newton right about equal and opposite. The cat outweighed the head so launch failure, the head fortunately did not fall it got caught by cables, but the cat face planted into the side of the desk.

My Siberian cat has a Portaflex and an old Hofner... he lets me play so long as it doesn't interfere with his feeding or nap time

That Heritage B-15N sure is pretty with that Hofner leaning on it! Cat's pretty cute, too.

Worth a try. The one that I use is ¼" thick. I cut it a bit oversized and it stays in place. If the jute is thinner you can try a couple of layers.

Loud is overdue to release a cute low watter in the SB-12 range. Recording out. Did I tell you that 12" speakers are really popular now? Makes business sense.

YES! That would be great! I would like one with just gain, master, bass, mid and treble and nothing more (just like the PF350).
