I love my Ashdown ABM EVO II. What cabs are you running it through and what head did you have before?
Can I have a number? Just plugged my new Little Bastard 550 in for the first time last night...

Whoops, I totally forgot about my earlier post! Yes, it did arrive safely last week:
Here it is on top of my Ampeg V4B reissue. It has a different character than the Ampeg, that's for sure (a little darker). I haven't had a real chance to play around with it too much, though. The drive setting sounds pretty good, but so far I haven't had much use for the sub-octave. The compressor works just fine, too. The whole amp seems to be very solidly built, as well. I also like the Ashdown-standard vu-meter.
Cool, I know that it has a mix of speakon and 1/4 inch speakers but is it one or the other? In other words if I can't daisy chain the speakers together can I use the speakon for one speaker and the 1/4 for the other? Jim
It has a single combination speakon/ 1/4" output. You can only use one or the other.
Bummer, I've never owned a head with both, so I just assumed you could. So if I buy cabinets with only 1 input, no output jack for daisy chaining, I'm SOL I guess. Jim
And since I just found this out, does anybody know if the little 1X10 MI 250 Ashdown cab can be daisy chained, I e-mailed Ashdown and didn't get a reply. I have a limited lifting ability, bad back, and those little 1x10 are some of the lightest cabs I've seen, 22lbs. ea.
All of the pics of the input sections of Ashdown cabinets that I've seen show 1- 1/4" and 1-Speakon input. I haven't seen a pic of the input section of the MI 250 cab, but I'd bet it also does. You also may have better luck giving them a call to confirm it. Sometimes emails get overlooked.

Hey Tbone thanks, I'm an old fart trying to play catch up on all this new fangled amp stuff! I also had a V4B back in the late "70s, the Magnavox era, ran it through a Sunn 200s cab with 2 JBL D140s. Makes my back hurt just imaging moving that around now! Jim
Sounds like you had a killer rig back then! From my experience, most cabs seem to have more than 1 input to allow daisy-chaining cabs together. FWIW, have you looked into MarkBass cabs? They currently have a 1x12 cab(model CMD121P) that weighs 29lbs, and the CMD121P combo that weighs 33lbs with a 350/500 watt head. Not to get off-topic, just looking to help you out a bit.

The MiBass 2.0 has 2 outputs so you won't have to worry about getting a cab you can chain.

I would also think that most, if not all Ashdown cabs would be able to be chained since they design some of their heads with only being able to use 1 1/4 inch or 1 speakon and their cabs are mostly 8 ohm.
Yeah I was checking those out, a local guy I contacted is selling a Little Mark Tube 800, would be a good match with the 1x12 Markbass cab. I think the one I was looking at was the New York 1x12. Does Ashdown have a US #, the one I saw was a UK #. I really appreciate the help, I'm in perfect health except for my back, that what is so frustrating looking at cabs, I could easily lift a 75 lbs. cab if it wasn't for that. Jim
They're U.K.-based, so that may be their only #. CoR Bass did confirm the dual-inputs on the MI cab in his posts above, though, so you don't have to call now! And back problems are no joke. Mine gets a little stiff now and then, and that sucks! I can't imagine having anything more serious than that.
Yeah, you bass brothers watch you're lifting techniques, little mistakes that don't bother you much now will haunt you later on. When you start to feel tingling and numbing sensations going up and down your leg after heavy lifting that's your first warning sign that the damage is beginning

Thinking of my back in the future is the main reason I got the NEO cabs. I picked up my daughter a couple of years ago and almost fell on top of her because I pulled something in my back and fell to the ground. Tweaked my back again loading my cabs some months later. Gotta keep my back in check, won't look cool laying down on stage and playing.
