I gigged with the ATK for the first time this past Saturday night, and I have to say, it sounded absolutely killer. My main gigging bass for the past few years has been my G&L L2000, but the ATK just killed it the other night. I think I found my new regular gigging bass. :cool:

+1

Same with me. I had G&L Tribute L2500, and than I bought ATK...and....ATK kill G&L anytime... :bassist::bassist::bassist::bassist:

:D

I should qualify my original statement. I meant "killed it" as in sounded awesome and did the job right - not that it "beat the G&L in every way". I still love the G&L and think it's a great bass that will remain in the stable, but the ATK really surprised me with how it performed in the live setting.

Just got this a few weeks ago. Japan-made ATK500 from '96, flame Koa over Alder. Don't see many of these around. I'm impressed with it so far and my band-mates like it too. All it needed was a new output jack and I fixed a loose battery clip with velcro. The neck is perfect and super-stable. The ATK is a bass I've always wanted since it came out, but never got around to getting one until now. The local stores don't keep them in stock. Number please!

I have that same bass: ATK 500 Koa! It's a great player and beautiful to look at too.

The is one of the greatest pawn shop finds ever. An american made ATK with the tension free neck and 5A flame fret board. I paid $145 USD. This and my Peavey TL-6 are my main basses. This things sings!

Can I get a number too? :hyper:

I'm having a bit of customizing done to my tri-fade 300.
In this pic it has been de-fretted and the fretboard re-radiused to 14 from the stock 9 1/2.
Medium frets to be installed, new graphite nut and the board will be shot in gloss while leaving the back satin.....gonna be sweet

Just showed up today and i have to say I'm pretty darned impressed.

im really digging all the tones i have found in the first few hours of messing with it. I put a quick set up on it so i could take it to rehearsal tonight.(am super exited to get to really push this thing through my amp.)

But on a side note any one have some clips of one of these things with flats?

^^^FunkFactor had some at one time....It kills with chromes, IMO

I threw a couple new jams up....
"What The Funk" a l'il something that I'm currently working on.... the main slapped groove is with my 750 in "Jazz Bass" mode...2nd position from the neck ... the slapped solo is with my tri-fade 300 with the Bassculture pickup and Glockenklang preamp that is currently having the custom work done on the neck that I described earlier .... I even play a l'il guitar on this jam :eek:
Also threw a groove recorded with a fresh set of Rotosound flat wounds. 1st half is in traditional mode .. 2nd in attack... Read the blog associated with each to get the onboard eq settings for each.
