A big welcome to the guys new to ATK's as well. Thanks for joining us, and helping spread the word about these great basses!
I have been playing my Tri Burst ATK 305 at several practices,and really am digging it. I would love for someone to tell me what type of Elixer strings Ibanez put on it. I really think they are the strings I have been looking for.
My 305 has been processed at the London Post Office. We're socked in with heavy snow, but it may still be out for delivery today!

Gotta update my gear section ...all I own now are my ATK's ...finally found a bass that will be a lifelong partner.
I constantly get compliments on the tone and how powerful my ATK's sound....and I absolutely love my Basscultures pickup

I use the Little Mark II for smaller gigs and at church, but my main rig is an Ampeg SVT-VR through a Bergantino NV610 cab.
Punchier..sounds closer to a Stingray pickup without the quality's I dislike...smoother top end, though I can get the sizzle with the Glock preamp I have paired with it.
Mine is wired for single coil, parallel or series operation... I always run it in series .. big bump in output and low mids.
Can't get that P Bass'ish tone that I can get with the stock ATK pickup in traditional mode so I don't find it as versatile as the stock pickup

"Motivation" is a simple fingerstyle groove using my ATK with the Basscultures pickup
"Bass Jam IV" the same bass with a slap groove and fingerstyle solo
"Funk Factor Bass Jam" is a slap groove and solo with stock ATK pickup and electronics
"Bass Jam V" main bassline is a stock ATK, with flats, in traditional mode ... solo was done with a 70's reissue jazz with distortion.

It was mentioned either here or another ATK deal thread concerning the difference in tone between the 4 and 5 string models (yeah, I searched SOME.) Has anyone noticed that?
A few comments from people who preferred the neck on the 5-string over the four-banger, but I don't remember any tone references.

I will stop complaining about the snow we're getting in Ohio...
If we got snow like that here, I wouldn't be sitting at my desk wishing I was at home playing my ATK.
I wish I had that here. Snow like that makes my commute into work so much more fun... a reroute through a few alleys and hit the skate park for a few passes before continuing on to work.
It kept going overnight. This is insane- a thirty year record for overnight snow accumulation.
They've declared a state of emergency, so new bass day is going to be delayed again!

sorry Ive been away for a few days. playing my new fretless and then installing an Audere 3zb in another atk, my oldest. it used to have low output with the seymour duncan preamp in it, and I thought maybe it was the preamp, but this one is lower output as well. actually all 3 of mine have different output levels. the quietest is my 95 natural atk which when recording straight in is around -18db. next is my 07 atk which is around -12db, and the loudest is my 95 black fretless atk which is around -6db. I dont understand. I think its the differences in pickup manufacturing. I have the gain on the stock preamps down all the way, the audere doesnt come with an overall gain adjuster. I ca deal with it, but its a little frustrating to get a huge volume boost when switching to my fretless live. anyone else have multiple atks with different volumes?
