Your D800 will push 3 BF One10's.
I'd rather make 3 light trips than 1 loaded up big trip from the car.
For me personally, if I had to choose the Super Midget or Super Compact for a moderately loud band (drums, bass, two guitars, fiddle,keys, and three vocalists), I would go for the Super Compact. But I don't really NEED a tweeter. I do need bass. The difference in the lows between the SM and SC are IMO bigger than their difference in size. The SM can do very nice bass/lows, but it needs more EQ and a powerful amp. A SC puts out the low freqs a lot more natural.
I'm going to say, if it works, it is by luck, not by design. I'd say that based on the voicing and power handling and sensitivity.
There have been Barefaced users who have mixed a Super Midget with a One10 and been very pleased with the results.
I asked the question because I am expecting delivery of my first BF cab soon (hopefully this week) a One10, and since this thread has morphed into a conversation of lightweight options (One10, Two10, SC and SM) I still have some options to consider before I order a second cab.
I was planning on getting another One10 to cover most of the gigs I have, but there are times when I'll probably need a little more oomph. Originally I was thinking that I could get a third One10 to make a mini stack that would probably be enough to cover all my gigs: one for no drum duos and trios, two for most regular 4 piece gigs, and three for outdoor gigs with no FoH support. But that would mean dumping my MB500 and 800 to get something that would go down to 2 ohm (actually 2.67 ohm)
monsterthompson's positive reviews of the SC (which frequently found it's way to the top of my list multiple times over the last 6 months) as a single cab solution even in loud situations, has me wondering if I bought an SC instead of the second One10 would it be a wise choice.
I guess this is just another question I'll have to add to the list of questions for Mr. Claber.
I have two SCs and love them! I played a gig last night with one of my originals bands at a somewhat small venue so I only brought one. Despite the small place, the drummer was LOUD and I barely had to push the one SC to be heard. I'm using a GB Streamliner 900 and have all the headroom I need with just one cab.
The mantra about not mixing speakers sizes wasn't 100% accurate back then (I successfully ran a 115 and 210 for years). . . . and these days there are 10's and 12's that are being specifically designed to be mixed, so the prophesiers of doom are even less accurate.
If the likes of Jim Bergantino, Mesa Boogie and Barefaced can design mixed cabs that work together then there is no luck involved. Don't rely on urban myth, do your homework and find out the facts.

I have had 2 SC's for a year now and they sound fantastic. I bought a ONE10 at the weekend and have been running it at home on its own and with an SC. All sounding good so far. I'm liking the sound of the 10" so am definitely interested in another.
I'll be taking all 3 cabs to a gig on Friday and will be trying out various combinations.

In this case Alex has made no mention of having designed the cabs from the two series to work well intermixed, unlike Andy with the Subway cabs of different driver size. I'm sorry to say this is a case of, since these are good products and the designers hang around here, folks who mix them and say the result is good get a pass, while all others are idiots/uninformed/stubborn/"have you tried the corresponding matched stacks?"/"but what about the audience off-axis?"/whatever. This is sad and wrong. If it sounds good it is good, regardless of boutique status, and the fact that the war against mixing has become selective is one more reason why it should be toned down.
I am curious about your results with the One10 / Super Compact setup. Also, are you running the Mesa D800?
I've had the D800 for nearly a year and only used it on 2 gigs. I prefer the TH500 with my Super Compacts by miles.
Now I've got the One10 I'm trying out all the options and find that I'm liking the sound of the D800 through the One10 and when I add the SC. I'm also preferring the active Lakland with rounds rather than the passive PJ with flatwounds through the new cab.
I'll be taking both SC's and the One10 to the gig with the intention of starting the night using the SC and One10. I'll take it from there and see how it goes. I might end up back with the 2 SC's or using all 3 cabs.
I'll let you know what I think.
I posed this very question to Alex a few days ago and responded with a primal shrug. He said it might work, might not, and if it does work in one venue it might not work in another. I'm gonna do some serious tests on the One10 when it gets here because now I'm back to thinking two One10 cabs will probably work for me.
That said, I think the members of this club would benefit from the experiences of others regarding mixing drivers.
There have been very positive comments made by TB members regarding mixed Barefaced drivers, met with a primal shrug by TB members

I think I have talked myself into just being satisfied with my (2) One10 setup. I love the tone I am getting, overall works and sounds great. The cabs only weight about 15# each. The more I think about it, the more I think that if I did but another cab, it would be another One10, just so I could leave two at my rehearsal basement and travel with, and then the third to use for home practice and the three or four acoustic / low volume gigs I do through the week.
GAS has me wanting to get a BF 112 of some variety, and realistically if I pursue that, I would sell one of my One10's. So I am thinking put the whole idea on the back burner, and wait until maybe next year before I think about making a change.
