I didn't bother with the 25Hz thing - didn't know about it until recently. I just played through my Big One Initially, it just needed some EQ boost at the bottom end to get a sound I was happy with and over the course of a few rehearsals and a couple of gigs it needed less and less bass EQ - to the point where it's now a small bass cut. I reckon it took about 2 weeks of normal playing to run it in

Running the sine wave through the cab was no real problem, I just did about an hour at a time when I was alone in the house :D
I dont know whether its absolutely essential to break in speakers with the sine wave but I am happy to use the advice of the experts on here and at Barefaced .
I ran it through my MP3 player into my PF500, I turned up the volume until I could feel a steady breeze from the ports, after about 4 hours I noticed an increase in the bass resonse from the ports and gradually increased the level, after about 6 hours it sounded like a Chinook helicopter hovering over the house :D
I have played a few gigs with it now and it is perfect, some people expect bass players to turn up with wardrobe sized cabs and are very impressed with the sound of these cabs :bassist::)

Has anybody tried a Super 12 (sans tweeter) with an Ashdown ABM/Spyder Head or similar? Been considering getting one but haven't really heard a great deal about them...... The power handling coupled with the minuscule weight of their products kinda has me questioning if they can even be real....

Especially since I'm primarily gigging with a 103 lb GK GLX410 for small to medium gigs with an additional 78 lb Acoustic B410 for larger gigs. :crying:

Well I have about 6 months under my belt as a bassist and am playing with the worship team at church. I am in the process of picking out my 1st rig. I'm gassing over the GB Streamliner 900 for an amp and was all but certain on a GB Uber..... then I discovered barefaced..... oh what to do. Now I have to start a whole new research on Barefaced. Not likely to find one to listen to in Arkansas.

If you want a fantastic sounding and loud cab combined with lightweight and portability then you cant go wrong, the Barefaced web site is one of the best product sites I have seen, Alex`s passion, knowledge and desire to create brilliant products is there to see .
I am 100% happy with my Super Twelve T, I was sceptical about spending that much but I think its worth every penny .

The Super Twelve T would be a great match with the STM900. The tight lows and up front mids complement the fat lows and scooped mids of the STM900. The knobs provide a wider range of tones than you might think. The STM900 has a good high pass filter to limit the ultra low freq power to the drivers which means you can crank up the juice if needed once the cab is broken in and it will sound thick and punchy. Those 3012HO's are strong drivers which can handle a good deal of power. My 3012HO Twin with HF horn is somewhat similar and matches very well with the STM900. I use the "modified SVT" settings and it rocks.

Its a marriage made in heaven, I have just been playing and as much as I like my Ampeg PF500 I have to say the STM 900 makes it seem anaemic and weak, I know its not a fair comparison but the difference is far bigger than I thought it would be, that is without really cranking the STM or engaging the gain button, the thing almost shakes the house and sounds amazing .
Regards the Super Twelve, I dont know how much power the thing can take but its got to be immense :bassist:

I really wanted a Super12, and had quite a few email exchanges with Alex about things - that was most appreciated and rather very cool of a busy business owner to do, btw. I ended up going with a used NEOX212T from a fellow TBer for less than half the cost of the Super12. Pretty dang happy with the 212T, but sure would like to hear a BFB cab... which is not very likely on my coast, and small city.

So someday down the road!

With this rig you can kill somebody!!

I can't imagine the volume can generate this thing!

I have a S12, and it's the louder cab I've never heard. I owned the Compact too, and with the EQ flat I dig more the tone, but the S12 seems make any EQ adjustment very noticeable.


And when really I was floored, was when I reproduced a CD thru the cab! Sounded awesome! In fact, I think two of them can make a very good PA!!!

Nice little rig that packs a wallop. The Super Twelve T is what inspired me to build my twin 3012HO two-way cab. Mine has a slightly larger internal volume and is displacement limited at 650 watts so I'd imagine the Super Twelve T is at least that or a little higher. Point being that these can take a lot of watts and really move some air when needed - more than you'd expect from a box this size. It's impressive how light Alex makes them. The mids on mine turned out smoother than I first expected but still quite present. Love it with the STM900. How do you like the mids on the Super Twelve T?

Well, still I'm not sure... I think the general response is very clean and flat on all frequencies, more than any cab I've owned. For me sounds flatter than a Phil Jones 12B I had, wich sounded great alone, but a little bit lost in the mix, the midrange didn't cut.

The S12 is very "in your face" (with the Markbass F1), without extreme bass or treble as some other called Hi-Fi speakers, but being smooth at the same time.

I have it for a year now, and still trying how works with different basses and EQ. The only thing I'm sure is that is the loudest thing at his weight. Can do the reggae sound pretty loud without farting...
