Okay. This cab just clicked for me. I got the Shuttle EQ figured out. I'm doing a mild cut in the low mids (selection and boost/cut knobs each set around 10-11 o'clock). The pre is boosted for warmth and compression. Adding in the Pork Loin makes things sing. Big, warm, lush tones. A little grit, no flab. I'm not sure how much changed with cab break in and how much changed in my ears. Spending time with the para mid adjustment really paid off. I'm a very happy customer.

I've got an old peavey alpha bass preamp and an art voicechannel coming. It looks like it's time to make some more videos with the supertwin. Also, because I love the tone so much, I've ordered a brand new EV RE20 to replace my sm57 live. Issues with the 57 at all but, at loud volumes, the proximity effect has to be eq'd out which, can be annoying when there is very little time to sound check. The RE20 should allow me to get the cab sound into the pa at any volume. I borrowed a flat mic off my guitar player to compare to my others and it worked very well. (a condenser) I actually expect the old peavey to give the VTRM a run for it's money. I really like the old peavey gear but, there is always a certain blurry-ness to the sound that makes me move on. The alpha is the only one I haven't owned or used extensively. So far, the VTRM and genz shuttlemax 9.2 have been the best overall.

So after a dozen shows with the Big Twin 2, I have come to the conclusion that this cab kicks ass. It's just what I was looking for. Light weight, tons of volume and bass, and the hf driver is very complimentary to the overall sound. The highs are not harsh or abrasive at all but it sounds great when slapping. Yep. This cab is awesome.

After a while playing, rehearsing and gigging my Big Baby 2 I have to state that this cab goes well beyond the claims....
The break in process (and the one of my ears...) took a certain time, but the cab now is astonishingly good.
No flaws, only over the top performance.
One of the great things is the sensitivity, but it's also the focus, punch, and, most of all, the unique ability to faithfully reproduce the tone generated by the me-bass-amp combo with clarity AND warmth.
For the first time the tone onstage and outfront (yes, the cab carried an open field with 300 watts playing along with a 3000 watts PA dedicated to voices and guitars) is almost THE SAME as the one I can hear using the amp's DI and professional studio reference headphones.
Thanks God, now I can enjoy the midrange quality of my basses and amps just like I do on recordings.
The bass response is absolutely boom-free and the deep bass comes out with authority but with well defined boundaries, just like a good quality PA sub. If I want, the cab can reproduce an healthy deep bass boost with strenght and rage. No mud please.
After having tested it in various situations, I completely disagree with a few folks that consider the Barefaced cabs as shy in the lowmids. They aren't shy or bumped in any area, if you feel lacking something in the frequency spectrum, best to look at technique, bass and amp.
The high mids and highs are the strawberry on the top of the cake, the HF driver is completely integrated, soundwise, with the performance of the woofer, so that you are not able to pick the tone generated by the horn, and instead you hear a glorious high extension that is presented as silk, even with percussive techniques and a poorly talented player (me...). Turn the HF knob down and the crossover actually changes the driver's behaviour giving a true paper feel to the tone, just like having a new cab, while other boutique cabs feel simply lacking something when the tweeter is reduced or closed.
Last but not least, the cab look gorgeous and is so light....

More than happy customer here!
I must admit that I was almost obsessed by the Barefaced brand, and I was afraid that this kind of mood could lead me to a wrong purchase. Luckily, all my expectations have been satisfied and more.

Wow, I couldn't say it better. When I first received my Big Twin 2, Gen III from a fellow TB'r I thought well it's ok but not all that everyone says they are. Seem over priced for what I got, heck other then the weight my Mesa Powerhouse Cabs kicked butt on this. But then after a few gigs and, wait for it I bought for a second time an Aguilar DB751 and BAM!!!! that was it, the combo for me is well I have found that sound in my head I was looking for. The only problem now is I can't gig with the pair until my head case arrives. Seriously the best sound ever!!!!!

I am running my BigBaby2 pair with a db750 as well:) .... very nice!

I'm pretty satisfied with my Buster into my Super Compact.

I did some reading on BassChat, and several folks seem to like the SC paired with a Midget. I'm getting GAS-y. I have zero need, but that doesn't seem to be slowing my desire to hit the PayPal button.

I don't have any experience with the Super Compact but I'm currently running a BB2 and SM gen 3 with Monique and Minnie. I'm not that good at describing tone, even if I do it in my mother language (Swedish). So I'm sorry to say that I'm even worse in English.

I started with an BB2 and added an SM a month ago. I think my tone improved quite a bit with an added SM. I like the BB2 a lot but with the added SM I got more definition while still maintaining the lovely low end from the BB2. I asked Alex about the difference of BB2+SM vs 2xBB2 and he answered.

"It basically just sounds a bit more thumpy and thick with SM+BB2 rather than so deep and tight - there's much less difference between SM+BB2 and BB2+BB2 than compared to SM+SM"

Thanks a ton. I've emailed Alex and gotten a brief reply. I was hoping for some supplemental real world experience from users.

I think the added definition would be nice. I thought the horn on the BB2 would allow for greater range of adjustment and might even mimic the Midget. Though it sounds like the Midget might have a different flavor.

I didn't care for Monique with the Super Compact. The EQ couldn't get me the tone I wanted. My Buster and Shuttle 9.0 work quite well. As much as I'd like the fancier option, I'm leaning toward the Midget. The BassChat folks seem to greatly enjoy that combo (though many have pre Gen3 cabs).

Another gig last night. Outside on a concrete slab, didn't go through pa and didn't need to. Bass just sounds better when heard through the cab and unless you are playing a large stage where your amp is elevated off the ground, a pa just isn't needed. Again, I brough both cabs and only used one. This really is the best overall gigging cab that can be had. Love to hear the 610 but, gigs have dried up so much here that, I don't know if there would be a reason to have one.

Really enjoying this thread and everyone's input and comparisons etc. I have a BFST3 and have only played a couple of gigs with it so far but it is the first cab I have owned that just seems to sound better, the more power you supply it with. My last band gig was in a marquee with no PA support, so my amp (Ashdown ABM 500 EVO III) was set at half volume (the highest I have ever had it) and the sound was incredible - solid, tight and full. I wondered if I imagined it, but the top end also seemed to be extended, which meant I did not have to tweak my guitar EQ (Musicman Sterling) quite as much as I normally do in practice. Has anybody else also had that experience or are my tinnitus affected ears deceiving me?

I think the top end is fine if you get the mids under control. I wouldn't call them extended on my Super Compact. I notice the chatter on BassChat has many using a Genz shuttle amp. I'm a huge fan of that combo.
