Official Barefaced Bass Cab Club

Received shipping notification today from BF! With any luck I will have them in time for at least one band practice next week.

Sweet!

My cabs came fairly quickly after I received the notification. They came DHS and I think it took 3 or 4 days to get here.

Unlike a bass I'm waiting on to arrive from Canada. Shipped December 4th...still not here. UGH! :(

I actually found a FAQ on the Barefaced website that talks about taxes. Said if there are any they shouldn't be much in the US. So with that and the several folks who chimed in here with their experiences Im pretty confident that I won't have anything to worry about.
Thanks gents!

I didn't get a tax bill.

Have you reached a vintage Motown sound with one or two barefaced 12"s and a power amp? What did you put in between?

I can coax a lot of great vintage mojo from the Genzler 4 on the Floor bass OD. Has a clean blend and LPF/HPF for the OD circuit (HPF going into the drive, LPF coming out of the drive - mellows out the OD tone). I run this into a Mesa Subway DI+ pre amp. Those two pedals are always on. I use an MXR M87 bass comp too at times. The line-level balanced out goes to my bridged crown xls-1502 into one or two BB3 cabs. I do run other pedals for different purposes. The BB3s are capable of reproducing what ever is put in them. Can be wooly and fat or modern and punchy. Dial it up with EQ/HPF/LPF and a good preamp.

Crappy picture but they arrived safely. It's too late to plug them in but tomorrow I'm planning on taking them to my drummers place to run some volume through them.

Congrats!! I know it was a long road of patience for. I hope you love yours as much as I am enamored of my BB3. Although I personally never noticed it, a lot of people in this forum caution it takes a few weeks of playing at volume for the cabs to shine their fullest, so don't be upset if it's not exactly the sound you were hoping for. It will come around.

Well there is a very low bar considering I've been playing a Megoliath with some blown speakers LOL. I appreciate the advice though. I don't think I'm gonna be disappointed over the next few weeks of breaking them in. But I will definitely chime in here on how things are going.
