Yep. You need to remove the corner guards on the bottom, then pull the little tab attached to the grill.
Is the Super Midget now the Super Mini? And wat is the Super 3rd compared to the Super Midget/Super Mini/Super Compact? I cant't find this info on the website.
Can a '3rd' replace a SC or is a 3rd more comparable with a Super Midget which I had to púsh with EQ and Watts to get some lows out of it?
Sounds like the Super 3rd is great to stack on the Supertwin, can be run as a standalone 12, but different form factor as Super Compact. Didnt do the math to compare the cubic volume. There is info on the Super Compact page. ie...Super Compact
For me stacking my Super Compact on my Supertwin is just fine IF I would EVER need that volume. I would hope not
I have a burning question I've been wondering about. How does a BB3 compare with a subwoofer/top combo? Can anyone compare the BB3 with a particular "PA setup"? I am still debating getting a BB3, which I could use as a wicked bass amp or as a PA speaker. How can it go so low when most PA speakers don't go that low? Seems like it's kind of a PA in a box? Would a 12 or 15" subwoofer with a top sound similar to a BB3? Just debating my options before I commit.

Please don't remove the cloth grills unless you have a very good reason to do so (like having to change a speaker).

That was the original goal with the Big One, which I've kept chasing subsequently with the Big Baby and Big Twin, then the Big Baby 2 and Big Twin 2, and now the Big Baby 3 and Big Twin 3. I just want to plug in and hear the sound of my bass, pedals and amp like I'm coming through a great PA system or big studio monitors.
This. Once I got my BB2 it ruined all others for me. I miss it
OK, so one more question. Is there any issue amplifying bass guitar and electronic drums at the same time using a BB3? I am assuming that would work fine.

It's absolutely fine for the same reason you can listen to a whole band through a PA system.
I seem to be saying this a lot lately in this thread but, as with all the other times I've said it recently, I love that bass!
My Barefaced Bass Super Compact arrived yesterday!
The order was placed at the end of September and it has been worth the wait. Alex is very easy to communicate with, and was patient with my doubts and questions.
Of course the hard part is not being able to check one out in person. It can be difficult to suss out this cabinet by reading threads online...people focus on the size to volume ratio, often reducing a review to, "my drummer can't believe how loud it is!" The Super Compact appealed to me for many reasons including it's lack of a tweeter. My two main concerns centered on tone; would it sound rolled off and would would it have a hollow timbre? Having played through it now, with passive basses including a fretless Rickenbacker, four and five string Fender Jazz basses and an 1890s flatback upright with a Realist Lifeline, I can say that neither of these concerns carried validity.
I typically play acoustically oriented concert gigs with vocals and horns, musicals, big band and other large ensembles, but also louder bar and event gigs including salsa, blues and rock and roll. Lots of doubling. My amp is a Euphonic Audio micro 550 and the Super Compact is a good match for that amp. It offers hifi clarity while still being warm and phat.
The Super Compact replaces a Bag End D10-C that was my favorite cabinet for decades. The SC's dimensions are the same as the Bag End. It shares the fidelity, build quality and portability, while producing more extended bass. And yes, it weighs thirty pounds less!
If you are on the cliff about buying a Barefaced Super Compact, I hope this description helps in your decision making. Happy playing!
