I hope Alex is just about to launch a talent pedal. After tonight's gig I feel in need of one!!!
Sort of an x-post from the Genz Benz club post... but is anybody using Genz Benz ShuttleMAX amps with 12XN cabs? I'm thinking about either a 9.2 or a 12.2 for my 2x Super Compact stack. Undecided on which power section I would rather have.
New to the club as from tomorrow...
Both bands I play in don't use amps anymore. So I sold my heavy Bassman (those stairs in our rehearsal room...) and went looking into pre-amps/D.I. options for in-ear use when playing live.
I bought a Monique Dovecage and a Sumo Baby poweramp for rehearsal or occasional gigs without IEM and was looking for and reading about the best sounding lightweight cab one could find.
Then I saw the cabs made by Alex. And there was one for sale here in Holland. Tomorrow I'll be picking up a like new Super Twin. I bought it blind because I heard it produces a very honest tone coming out of your bass and amp. The same as the Sumo tells you it does. That should be a match made in heaven! Cannot wait!

This combo will sound great. I'm using a similar configuration with smaller components: Tuner --> Noble preamp/DI --> Straight Ahead power amp (500 watts @ 4ohms) --> SuperTwin. Couldn't be happier. If I need more volume, I switch to a bigger power amp.

I use Sumos with Super Compacts all the time (BDDI preamp). You won't be disappointed.
I use the Quilter Bass Block 802…preamp, power amp, and lots of power all in one small package…I hook it up to my two BB2 cabs and I like the results I get.
I like to use my Quilter BB800 as a power amp for my Alembic F-2B preamp, then out to my BF Super Twin. If I want to travel a little lighter, I'll leave the F-2B at home and run a SushiBox Slampegg Bee Pre into the front of the Quilter for extra tweakability.

Yeah, they are very informative and I really like Alex's teaching style! I wish I had professors like him when I was taking chemistry, physics, and math courses back in my college days!

Maybe some of us have received an email from Barefaced announcing their 15 years birthday, in which they ask us to share our stories for the event?
At the end of the email, they give us a few "Bass news":
"In bass news, you can now order a 4 ohm Four10! We can also do an 8 ohm (non-switchable) Two10 but we haven't added that to the website yet - but it's absolutely possible. And we'll have a 4 ohm Three10 coming soon. All available as T versions too if you want a tweeter."
Nothing about the amp though (sadly)
There must be a fair amount of interest in them. A while back in this thread there was chatter about making a Two10 + One10 stack work, which occasionally resurfaces. Looking to forward to seeing what develops.
Some info from Alex about the Three 10 was already shared on the UK Basschat forums:
"Same height and width as a Super Twin, same depth as a Two10S/Four10/Six10. Same wheels and handles as a Six10."
