Heads up for anyone needing covers for their Barefaced cabinets, ROQSOLID has their Black Friday/xmas special sale going on now. No personal affiliation with the company, I have a couple of their covers and have been happy with them and with the customer service. I also have a spare cover for my SuperTwin if anyone is interested.

Excited to see what new products Alex has in the wings!

Wow, this is really great news. A 4 ohm Four10 would be way more useful in my situation. Reasonably compact in size and compatible with all my amps including an SVT. And there's still options for modular additions such as a Two10.
Previously the 2 ohm version was the only option for my SVT but was not very versatile and with no modularity with further cabs.

Anyone know how Alex did this, or can @alexclaber himself explain how he solved this (discussed at length) impedance headache to enable a 4 ohm Four10? New drivers?

Does this mean that Barefaced now has a marketing department?

If the marketing department were in charge (actually we don't have one of those) then yes - but as I'm in charge, then no.

How likely do ya'll think a Barefaced amp is the announcement? My current amp is having some grounding issues, and I wanted to see if I should try to wait and see if there's an announcement or just bite the bullet now.

If there isn't an announcement, I'm looking at either the Aguilar AG700, Tonehammer 700, or Mesa TT-800 to pair with my incoming BB3 and SM. Anyone have any opinions on that front? Experience with any of these with your BF cabs?

currently using a th500 with my super twin and it's killer. I have a db751 that stays at home due to weight. A barefaced equivalent to it is in the works and I can't wait. Or is it… can't weight

Whatever it is, it won't compromise on quality or tone. Alex only puts forth top-tier products.

Without meaning to be negative, but rather reasonable, I am going to take the path of cautious optimism. All of us probably know of companies who make great cabs, not so great amps, great amps, not so great cabs. Hopefully Alex would put an amp into the marketplace only if he could bring something new and innovative to the space, and not feel pressure to simply apply the brand name to an amplifier that doesn't display true innovation.
There are so many excellent amps already.....tubes, hybrids, solid state, and Class D, the choices are almost paralysing. So, this will be interesting. As a huge admirer of, and owner of Barefaced cabs, I truly hope Alex doesn't try capitalizing on the strong Barefaced brand he has built, by putting an amplifier, or any product, into the marketplace before it's ability to shine brighter than the competition.

I agree that there is already an incredible number or great amps, but I'm confident Alex won't just "try capitalizing on the strong Barefaced brand".

We all know how demanding Alex is, and since he's working on that amp for quite a long time, I'm sure he found something that has a strong potential, otherwise he would have stopped his research by now.

"Shine brighter than the competition" doesn't really mean anything IMHO: in the high end category, there's no "superior" or "perfect" amp, just different flavours of great. So it just have to bring something new/different to the table.

Alex is a bassist, a great audio engineer and he's super creative, so I'm confident the amp ill be killer, and very intrigued to find out what he's going to bring that's really new.

I think Alex' criteria for when his amp(s) will be ready is not whether there is an innovation, something new that hasn't been seen before (although there could be); or whether it will compete in a commercial sense against the many very good amplifiers currently on the market. I think Alex will be satisfied with unleashing his amp on the world when it satisfies all of his own personal checklist. In other words, if you were to take the nameplates off of all the best available amps and put them in a room; when Alex' amp is the one Alex himself would choose to do a gig with because it checks all the boxes for him, that's when he'll be satisfied with releasing it to the public.

IMO Aguilar amps and Barefaced cabs just work at the highest level.

I gig various combinations of TH500, TH700 and AG700 amps into BB2, SM and SC cabs. I'm sounding better now than I have at any time in the last 40 years.

In my gigging times I might've been if the power section was right for me. I think the big puzzle is finding that right set of specs for a diverse customer base. I think I'd almost end up with separates now. That allows for some customization. If there's a failure with the amp or speaker you could swap in/out the necessary components while repairs are handled. I still see the attraction to a unified power section and cab, I just don't know if I would make that choice tomorrow if I could.

Well folks, i've done it. after months/years of daydreaming, during a recent moment of strength/weakness i ordered myself a SUPER TWIN with silver grille cloth. Aside from some fleeting panics of remorse for having spent as much on another speaker, im feeling pretty excited about it. A does-all gigging cab that i wont dread moving.
I DO, however, find myself waffling about wanting black instead of silver grille cloth. my other BF cabinets all sport silver, and im just wondering if i will then have TOO MUCH silver. see below.
so i wonder if you might help me by providing this Talk Bass forum with relevant discussion as well as pictures of your Super Twin sporting either black or silver cloth -with the new logo. there seems to be a deficiency in good pictures of the aforementioned.
