Yes, I'm not sure how hot his bass is, but the only time I don't dime my bass guitar volume is when I play with a pick b/c my fingerstyle is a fairly light touch compared to using a pick (or slap - which is mostly almost never).

I got to play with the BB2 tonight. I noticed that it is tight and needs to be broken in as per the instructions. After an hour of playing things started to loosen up a bit.
Tons of smooth bottom. Almost like a magic trick. Hard to believe those lows came out of that small box. The highs were a bit muddy though at first. I fooled with the crossover setting and adjusted some EQ on my D800 and also adjusted Lakland's pickup configuration switching my settings per the Barefaced website. I noticed I was getting more clarity especially the longer I played. I can see now that you really need to break this can for the fill range to come out. Looking forward to logging some more hours tomorrow. Volume wise I think it can replace my 2 2x10 cabs.

Just getting home from a packed fogged in a tough sounding room. The pair of retro two10 cabs had a fat bottom end with a carvin b2000 powering them. It was one of those nightmare rooms for a bass player but, once it got packed with bodies the cabs worked well and I'm looking forward to trying different amps with them. The supertwin would have worked well too. Thought about selling the supertwin but, I don't know now. May still be interested in a trade towards a big twin II or just keeping the twin. I've got a lot of nice cabs right now.
Ive been doing alot of cab comparisons lately. I think that I want to trade my super twin 2 towards a big twin 2 to get the extra top end. So, if anyone has a BT2 where they don't use the horn, let me know ASAP. Or, someone could buy my super twin 2 so that I could fund the BT2. I really liked the pair of retros at last nights gig but, I was reminded again, of one of my gig rules. ONLY USE 1 CAB. The retros are a breeze to move of course, but last night was at a club where it was packed from the get go and getting through a sea of people was alittle annoying. I cab would have been easier. In all reality, a BT2 would do it for me in any scenario along with an amp like the new genzler that has that channel B contour to soften the top end and punch up the bottom. So, Im loving the barefaced cabs and kind of narrowing things down.
I'm a big fan of the single cab solution too. Since I already have a BB2 I'm going to try and get another one to see how I like them together, then I may strongly consider picking up a Big Twin 2, but I'll need to get rid of my beloved CN212 to do it.
I usually run the bass vol just a little off max, say at 90%, so there's some room to move up a little if you need to, mid-song (or between songs, but mostly on-the-fly). Different songs have dirrent touch, and thus different '"base" volume for that song/technique, so a little control is good, and if you're going to have control, it might as well be right there at your fingertips instead of on the amp. It does act like a teeny tiny bit of compression and the highs are dampened just a tiny bit; maxed, those hardest-played notes can hit that nap point for high end. To each their own, naturally.
Is that a definite upcoming purchase? I have bought more gear this past year than any time in quite a long while, so I probably won't be getting one any time soon; but just as I noticed 2 Aggie SL-112's have an even sweeter tone at a given volume than a single one, this may well be true of BB2's also. Which would be, like, mind-blowing. I don't play many super-loud gigs to where I could justify a second one for volume purposes.

I snagged Kringle77's SuperTwin...can't wait to pump 800 watts into it and "see what she'll do!"
Will do. Hoping it might get here by Friday...it is already broken in and ready to go. I have a loud gig in a challenging room that would be a good test for this beast!
