Hey thanks P.....244. I did get a reply from a TX TBer that he's put in over 70 gigs with his BT+T cab and that he's still loving it, no regrets. From all I've read here, I didn't expect anything less. We did not discuss Gen 2 vs Gen 3 differences. But guessing without one owning/playing thru each cab, one just cant say.

Seems alot of folks are liking that the Gen 3's offer big sound in smaller boxes. With type of gigs I do, usually ease load in/load out, the smaller/lighter aint a real big factor for me. Although I can sure appreciate that side.

I'm thinking from the BF site, just maybe the Gen 3 212 might be abit more polite in the lows vs the Gen 2 w/3012LF's. Or might I have misread that? Oh well, I gotta sell off about 8 bass cabs if i'm gona even consider buying yet another, pricey cab. Wifey will have my @ss otherwise. :mad: peace, e

I remember you also commented that in the same situation the volume on your amp was at 11 o'clock with the BB2 vs 1 o'clock with the BBT.

@MOSCOWBASS - Hmmm, that "hole about 1k" or there abouts, was a reason I moved out my two Epi UL410 cabs. Loved em but dang...no mids.

Although many say they're inferior in design, my Avatar 4ohm, TB153 ,3 way w/3015LF, is one of my fave sounding cabs these days. It's def a one cab solution with that actual sub 15". I usually run my GK MB800 or GB 12.2 w/Carvin SB5000. May not be everyone's cup but I still kinda dig it after a few years of use. If that BT+T can't give me a lot more with those amps I use, may not be worth the change. Any thoughts?

I also had a Epi UL410 before the BBt, that was a scooped cab. The mid hole was more pronounced on the Epi and the Epi also ran out of steam earlier than the BBt with my Tecamp puma 1000 at that time. In fact the Gen 2 Compact and Midget t were better than the Epi in terms of power handling

Originally we weren't going to have a pad on the Big Twin T's mid driver like on the Big Baby T but found it gave a nice bit of tonal control so it got it too.

What a great guy. Alex was nice enough to take time to reply to PM and gave me some great first hand,comparison advice on the Gen2/Gen3 BigTwin cabs. Very cool.

Just wondered, haven't seen it come up yet but anybody in the US with a BF cab ever have to make any type of electronic or other repair to their cab?

Wait don't tell me......BF cabs don't break. ;) peace y'all, e.

To be clear, in my kiddingly, snide remark about BF cab failure. I meant more to ask if any/all of the components within the BF cabs would be available stateside should one ever need to repair their BF cab at a local shop or by DIY? Again, I've not seen where this is an issue at all throughout this thread. peace, e.

For general info, I'd say that since the drivers are custom/proprietary, they'd have to come from Barefaced. Can't get that BF driver at Guitar Center, lol.

Everything on the Gen 3 cabs is modular and swappable with only a screwdriver, so if you were to have problems we just FedEx you the relevant component - if we have that part in stock (which we usually would) then you'd have it within two working days (usually next day).

Obviously all the cabs that leave the factory go through quality control and final testing but manufacturing faults do sometimes sneak past and only show up once the cab has had more use - that's just a fact of manufacturing, whatever products you make. When we designed the Generation 3 range we took into account that we were selling more and more cabs internationally and many of our customers play a LOT of gigs, so we had to design them to be very robust in the demanding world of gigging and very easy to fix remotely if problems did occur.

Another rehearsal night running my Genz Shuttle 9.0 power section into the BB2 to get live synth found for my current project. It held up against two guitarists running half stacks. BOOM. I run some pretty nasty patches, too. In fact I thought one patch broke my cab. Turns out, the sputter I was getting *IS* the sound that patch makes. It was the first time I'd used it live, so I wasn't sure.
