For those keeping track, switched my order from the Super Compact to the Super Midget. Why mess with a good thing?

Yeah, I roll my bridge pickup off about 20%, which eliminates the mid suck and fattens the tone.

+1 That is my preferred setting, as well.

My main gigging cab has been an AK112 Thunderchild V2 but I've been gassing for a new cab just to change things up. Something with a double woofer that stays at a similar weight to my TC and that also colours the sound a bit like a traditional bass cab especially in the low mids. I think this is going to be the ticket

What's the general wait time to receive a Barefaced cab? Or does it vary too much to generalize?

I was told 6-7 weeks for my retro 210. Totally reasonable wait time.

I feel so fortunate to have found a BF Gen 2 Big Twin-T locally a couple weeks ago. I'd been reading all thru the BF threads and have been thinking I will never get a chance to try one of these cabs. This used Gen 2 cab was still like new and never got used close to its potential.

I just hooked up my new Peavey MM1000 thru this cab today....just wow. This great, powerful, little amp really shows it's features thru this nicely built cab. I'm sure the Gen 3 cabs are even better overall.

I've been messing with my SM at home. Really love this little thing.

I emailed Barefaced and asked about changing my order for a SC to another SM. The SM has more than enough lows for me and I really like their tweeter/crossover.

This is what I wrote to Barefaced: "It would seem that if I like the sound of the SM that it would be better to have a second SM as opposed to a SC. 1) I like what I hear from the SM and it works for me. I'm primarily an electric player but my upright sounds ridiculous through the SM. 2) From what I understand two, or multiple, of the same cab is better than mixing cabs. 3) Not being able to demo your cabs first hand I should stick with what I know and like."

This seems logical, no? It's hard because of the lack of access to the cabs. But it's a win-win anyway...

...also, home stereo for regular music.
I also think that a SM pair would work really well for me.
I have a fair number of different cabs in my current GAS list.
I can't help but wonder how a Big Twin II would sound, but I don't think I need/want that much native low end.
I'd love to A/B the SM pair with a Super Twin II.
The SM pair would give more options for practice & possibly small clubs, but they're already so small & light that I'd probably alway take two to any gig that I was doing ...just because...

I think it depends on their schedule and the cab. My guess is that they probably schedule to build certain cabs certain weeks (just my guess but it seems reasonable).

I ordered a One 10 12-29-2015. I think they were on Holiday so I got a confirmation 1-6-2016. Expected delivery was February 2-9, I received it (US) on 2-17-2016. So 7 weeks but I would say the first did not count as I don't think they were working. FWIW, shipping to US was crazy fast 2 days to Southwest VA from Brighton. There is talk of import duties, tariffs, etc but I did not pay a separate tax, it may have been built into the shipping, etc but I don't know.

You should get a bill from Fedex for the import duty.

Yes, as PaulKaplan said, you will get an import tarriff bill of about 5% which comes after you receive the item.

But yeah, shipping, once the cab is built, is super fast, I can't even believe how fast, coming from across the Atlantic. If the info on the tracking is accurate, it arrived here in Wisconsin from Brighton UK in just under 24 hours. I don't know how that is even possible so I suspect the tracking data was off a bit.

Thanks 5SP, hoping it sounds just as good or better in a full band context. I got real lucky in that I sold a bass and two bass cabs the next day from my CL listing; rare. So I made more than my money back I paid for this cab. I'm missing some lesser used gear now, sigh, but wifey stopped looking at me sideways about this BF cab and that's always a plus.

Started to get slight sideway glances on the delivery of the Peavey amp now, uh oh, good thing it was a small package.

If the info on the tracking is accurate, it arrived here in Wisconsin from Brighton UK in just under 24 hours. I don't know how that is even possible so I suspect the tracking data was off a bit.

As long as the item is collected before 1300 UK time, then it goes on a FedEx freight plane that evening, with an overnight flight from London Stansted to the relevant hub in the USA. Once stateside the item can then be delivered same day to most locations. It's pretty impressive! Canada isn't much slower (I think that goes via the Memphis super hub, so there's one more hop) and even Australia is only a couple of days more. We shouldn't really call it 'shipping' because it's all flying or driving!

The production queue length increased due to our Xmas/NY shut down, a surge in interest following the BP mag review, various bits of factory maintenance which couldn't be put off, and a shortage of staff. We have more people now and our machinery is currently running smoothly, so we're building cabs very fast. The wait did stretch out to around 6 weeks (plus we ran out of 10CR drivers) but I think it's now down at less than 4 weeks for new orders and we have plenty of stock of components. I'd guess that fairly soon we'll have stock of some models and only a couple of weeks wait on the rest of the range. Ask me in a month, I think that's a reasonable goal!

I know my second Super Midget is going to be worth the wait! (Though the wait is going to suck. Big time. )

And my communications with Barefaced have been terrific. Questions have been answered very quickly.

OK, edging towards ordering a super twin. This will be my main gigging cab, but can anyone tell what its tone's like at a lower volume? (or any of the other 12" BF cabs?)
Is it one of those cabs where you only get the full tone at a higher volume or is it usable for studio or practice levels?
(Not a deal breaker but would be interested to know)

I'll be leaving to use mine with a GK MBF800 at a lower volume gig in 30 minutes. Will report back!
