I'm perfectly happy with the tone at low volumes. I like to play loud, so that sounds "better" to me but it's really just in my head.

So, your thoughts?
I have a BB2 and not a ST but find it to be a good all-volume cab; although the One10 is my go-to low-volume cab.
I only just got my GK MB Fusion 800, one gig so far, moderate volume, but it worked well. Interested in your take on settings, etc. of the MBF800 with Barefaced cabs.
Well, it did just fine although as we turned up louder later in the night it seemed happier!
Do you think it's capable of studio or even home practice volume levels? Are you able to drop volume right down to low level or is it zero or "balls to the wall"
It will obviously go all the way to 0...it's just highly underutilized down there. I have used a full SVT rig as a bedroom amp back in the old days. You could hear the fan it was so quiet, but it worked just fine.Do you think it's capable of studio or even home practice volume levels? Maybe I don't understand...having 'too much amp' has never been a problem in my life as long as it has a volume control. Not having enough, now that's another thing altogether!
The SuperTwin is a very clean sounding cab, even as you push lots of power into it, it doesn't break up on its own. I've been dialing in a little bit of edge with the front end of the MBF800 and it sounds great!

Sounds just the ticket. I'm after something that will cope with all my gig needs and then some, but won't p the neighbours off too much if i get tempted to use it in my lounge
Who here has a SIX10 now? I've been waiting for a Greenboy cab for about 6 months, I think I'll be ordering one of these instead...

All the 12XN cabs are designed to run the speakers clean, so no drive/growl/compression/etc from the woofer - you'll get the same tone with a fraction of a watt as with hundreds of watts.
The MBF800 would seem to be a very good match with the SuperTwin - good low end extension, nice growl with ample harmonics to add character, bright high end to bring out the treble on a cab with no tweeter, and lots of punch and headroom. Actually most of the time ill use just the neck pup. In fact i never use both pups on full together. I play mostly with a pick so do normally get a bit more bite out of my tone. Bite wasn't the issue though, that was loud and sharp enough to cut glass with
I do think its was a combination of the bass sounding very different to my P bass. The P has a Di Marzio DP122 in it and is quite pokey, the jazz is very warm and deep, and the baffles on the walls just soaking it all up.
Also having my VTBass deluxe set up for my P bass probably wasnt helping. you cant tell how its set just by looking at it.

Thanks but i started off with a Retro two 210 but didnt feel it was quite what i was looking for. I sold it quite quickly and got the BB2. Like you i feel the Bb2 will do it all. I just need to stop being silly and using Jazz basses lol..
Actually its just occurred to me i felt the same way about my Sire V7 when i used it at a rehearsal. Maybe im just not in a Jazz bass mood these days.

I respectfully disagree that both pickups full on a Jazz bass does not in any way, "suck " .

Sucks out the midrange. Although in making that statement there probably was a sideways reference to "Primus Sucks!"
Both pickups up full gives a really warm tone which sits right back in the mix - great for that context, obviously not if you feel you're getting lost.
Hey @tombowlus, did you get a chance to try the 210 with a Walkabout? this cab (or 2!) sounds about perfect for my needs.

You know, I did not. I still have the cab, though, and I will give it a try. I can see that being a very good combination. The new Ampeg PF-50T is amazing with the Two10, as well1

That's really good news! I would LOVE to see how the PF-50T sounds with a Six10! It might be plenty loud with a sensitive cab like that...Yessir!
