Now that I had this '98 BB75 over a few years now I been loving it. It can with the Bartolini pickup and I recently change the pre-amp to the Bart's too. This is a serious playing machine, deep tone and the neck fit like a clove.

Yes it is. Neck too
I think that combined with the tongue oils finish is one of the major reasons the bass sounds so good. But it just feels right too.
I just found out that my new fretless is on page 50 of the new Carvin catalog. It's the big LB70 picture for that model on the left of the page - I'm sure many of you know how they do the page layout.

Hey Carvin Club.....I am looking to buy a used LB75 or LB76. I have the money in PayPal. I am looking for something in very good to near mint condition. Nothing like the neck of the LB lines.

Need to replace this Carvin pre-amp with something else, this really not sounding good at all.
Just can't get no good tone out of it. Replace strings with some Dr. High Beams and still sound tinny. I'm really surprise 
Congrats, Gumby! I kinda think Carvin would be nuts not to use your bass. It's freakin' awesome!
I've started assembly of my BK-50 kit. I had a local luthier put a finish on it because I didnt think I was up to the task and did not want to chance messing it up. I also had him put a satin finish on the neck to seal it. I was trying to fit the neck into the pocket and realized that it was too tight. A small lip of the clearcoat had dried on the edge. I've manage to sand it down to the point I can now at least get the neck in there, but this thing is going to be like a neck thru the pocket is so tight. It was very tight before I finished it but is crazy tight now.
I'll try to snap a few pics to show the finish. He did a really great job.

I'm thinking you probably don't like the soapbar pickups, and I would think of changing them out rather than the preamp.
