You should! Mine sounds great on bass, though as stated earlier, the tone knob is quite important. I use my DOD board as a dual use (guitar and bass) practice board, and I find that most DODs do well for both instruments. Classic Tube, Classic Fuzz, and the yellow overdrive (the FX version of the 250, the FX50-B) are all great on guitar and bass. I usually don't even change settings between instruments.

Thank you. I actually came across that thread after I posted and after reading through it I think I may be adding the Gunslinger to list as well!

Glad you found the Gunslinger thread. The slinger absolutely slays it in the mix. With bass I found it best to run the slinger with 18Vs of power.

Thanks! I'm currently powering my board with two one-spots but am looking to upgrade to an isolated power supply preferably one with an 18v port for just such an occasion.
I can't wait to see what else DOD has on the horizon because as said prior they always seem to keep us bassists in mind when designing a pedal! Perhaps a Milkbok or an Octoplus reissue?
I would love for either of those to be reissued. Have the originals, and they're both great!
I've almost pulled the triggers on both of them a few times especially the Octoplus. I was real close to getting one before I came across an insane deal on an OC-2. The Milkbox sounds amazing but I was in the market for a more "surgical" compressor as opposed to a "tone magic" one hence why I ended up with the M87 but I love comps so I don't see why I can't have multiples! Lol
I feel that is DOD does it right with a Milkbox and Octoplus reissue (which I don't see why they wouldn't!) we could not only have a reasonably priced alternative to the Diamond comp but also a great analog octave pedal for a great price too!
I would absolutely like to see the space station revived and updated Cram style. That would be amazing and I think it would make headlines and flame GAS everywhere like you wouldn't believe in the pedal world.
The juice box would be awesome too. I know Mooer makes one though so I'm not sure they would. I still need to play one!! Other than that, I'd really like to see the DFX9 reissues as well as some of their other delays.
I think that sounds like a pretty cool idea! Even a FX90 with the ability to add modulation would be great too. I also wouldn't mind seeing something along the lines of the DFX94 reissued too. Perhaps with a jack that could either control a tap tempo or the sampler feature.

Then you made the right choice! I had an M87, and it was great at its job, but definitely sterile. Didn't realize it at the time, but that's what I disliked about it. The second I plugged in a Milk Box (~2 years later or more) I knew that's what I wanted in a comp.
DOD could reissue any number of FX series pedals and I'd be all over them!
That Octaplus would be a great one too. I mean, they did the meatbox, but it would be sweet if they put their name back in the octave game. The Meatbox isn't for everyone. But the Octo would be everyones answer to the OC2 type octave that a lot of peeps go after.
That's exactly what I was thinking as well. Plus with the tone knob it's able to get sounds that even the OC-2 can't and let's face it, none of us bassists need the -2 octave down only the -1. It would be nice if it had more output than the original too plus true bypass.
That was the exact reason I never got an OC-2. I couldn't fathom ever needing 2 octaves lower, and the tone knob seemed much more useful.
I completely understand. When I got my first OC-2 I didn't really know how to use it to its full potential and by the time I did I loaned it to someone who then took it with him to a studio session and I never saw it again! I was seriously looking hard at the Octoplus and was about to get one when I came across a used OC-2 on Craigslist for $20 and for that price I couldn't pass it up! If it wasn't for that incredible deal I would've ended up with the Octoplus since they can still be found for such great prices. I still may too at some point. I've heard they have a low output though? Can anyone enlighten me to whether this is true or not?
