Opinions on Milk Box? If it comes down to it, is it a good compressor to have in the stable. I don't use one now, but am looking to have decent examples of most effects to use when I get the feeling. Also, I hear compression can help with evening out filter dynamics and volume issues. I'm currently working through volume issues with my loved FX25Bs, and hoping this might help. What would be a good price?
@Somnambulance had a MilkBox and seemed to like it from what I remember. He flipped it but that doesn't necessarily mean that particular pedal sucked.
I'm not a comp guy so I can't help you there.
Saw a FX50 with the boost in the TB classifieds BTW
So many things to buy right now! I'm actually looking at that, an FX52 Classic Fuzz AND the Milk Box right now. Can't get them all, trying to prioritize.

Not sure if you have read this or not but Bongos write up on the Milk Box> DOD FX84 Milk Box. Makes me kind of want one and I'm not even a comp guy.
Not my week! Milk Box gone as I was gonna buy it online, then the Classic Fuzz I was going to buy as consolation was cancelled as the store sold it in person before my online order. Now I'm reduced to trolling the Evil Bay to find an FX52. Hoping I get one at a good price. Wish me luck!

Sold the DOD 440 last week and I've just bought a DOD Gunslinger that will arrive next week. I can't wait to run this beauty at 18v.
Right on.. goodluck. Sometimes though, the "make an offer" really pays off. Ive had some approved offers that were much much less than the original asking prices.

Not sure, but I wouldn't see why not. Said it involved adding a boost circuit and putting a volume pot in between resistors or something (so I can adjust volume as necessary). Beyond my knowledge. There was also the option to just have the boost, but no knob. I figured the control over volume would be good. He did have to drill a new hole for the pot, obviously, so not for people who want them to
look mint (like any true DOD fan would...). Anyway, for a total of around $100 (including purchase price) I got 2 awesome filters! Can't beat that deal!
Also, just moments ago scored that FX52 Classic Fuzz from Reverb. Nice!
I've got the DOD Gunslinger yesterday and let me say that I absolutely love this pedal!
I sounds really great at 9v, great OD and can get to a more compressed distortion sound at higher gain settings.
But, man, the way it sounds at 18v is just awesome! The sound gets more open, gains more headroom, the drive just sounds more crunchy and not so compressed. Great sound.
I've played around with "Do I wanna know?" by the Artic Monkeys and was playing it with my Yamaha BB1024x, with the neck pickup, and just messing with the volume and tone knobs to cover all the tonal grounds in the tune and it rocked!
Great buy for its money. This one will stay with me for a long time, for sure.

Very cool! I agree on all your descriptions. Its a sleeper pedal for sure and I'm glad more people are discovering the 'slinger style. If you can, make some clips on bass.. I believe mine are the only ones out there and thats a shame.
