yeah. noone wants her but me. i had one nibble but the other party wanted a straight up trade for a bass he had valued at half of what i had mine at.

The one downside of Elricks is they still have a low resale value for what they are. The highest price to new value I've seen paid for a used one was what I paid for my current fretted six, and I still paid about $1100-$1200 less than a new one would have been.

Can some one tell me names and locations of Bass stores that may sale the Elrick Basses? I only know Bass Emporium in Austin TX and Bass central.

There's a lot more in the East side, If you are in the west like me, you are out of luck. I was actually surprised to see the store in Seattle that you just posted "bassnw" (nice!). Rob told me he had virtually no representation in this side, but he was preparing to do a little tour in the summer to try and gain some retailers.

Speaking of...

He'll be at Bass Emporium on August 15th! This would be a great time for a photo op/autograph, but I was thinking... What would be the point of having Rob sign my bass? I mean... He builds each and every one of these things himself, so wouldn't that be kind of redundant?

What do you guys think?

I'm not one for autographs at all- someone can sign anything- there's no meaning behind it. A handshake or a conversation is worth infinitely more to me. One of my basses came with Rob's signature on the headstock (requested by the previous buyer)- I wouldn't think twice if it washed off, but I'd love to meet the guy in person.

i am not one for autographs either, but on the other hand signing the backside of the control cavity cover with a completion date is bonerific to me. i had an 81 ken smith and it had his name and date completed and i liked that alot.

Yeah, I agree with both of the above. I might ask Rob to sign the inside of the control cavity cover (if he hasn't already), I think that would be cool. I'm not fond of having a visible signature on any instrument, especially a boutique one!

I'm looking forward to meeting Rob and getting a chance to talk to him. He seems like a really cool cat. I booked off the day he'll be in town, because this is a rare and amazing opportunity that I'd kick myself forever for missing. The timing couldn't be more perfect, either, since he'll arrive almost exactly one month after I take delivery of my first Elrick!!!!!!

4 days and counting, guys... I can barely sleep. I can't even describe how magical this bass is.

You don't see too many of the Hybrid Semi-hollows. I've always been curious if he'd do one in a singlecut version- maybe throw in an F-hole for good measure
