For those of you with the EC, what do you do for cases? I've been looking all over Canada and cannot find a hardcase that fits. Found a lot of aftermarket generic ones but don't know if they would fit or not.
Half of the people here should join the LTD club instead the ESP club. LTD is the cheaper version of the real deal.

While I agree with you in principal, I have a feeling that, without the LTD players chiming in, there wouldn't be much discussion.
Fender > Squier: $400 and up, vs (roughly) $150 - $350. Squier is a small piece of Fender's product line (although I would argue that it probably accounts for a disproportionate percentage of sales) But lots of Fenders to choose from: MIA, MIJ, MIM...that aren't Squiers.
Gibson > Epi: not as clear as Fender, there is some overlap on prices, at least in the guitar lines. But room for discussion at both levels, and Gibson/Epi is certainly willing to take more chances with their product line at the Epi level, than with the more expensive Gibsons, where there's not a lot to choose from.
ESP > LTD: $1200 and up, vs $200 - $1200. ESP models of basses currently available: 3 LTD models: 11. ESP seems to be playing very conservative, when it comes to their product line, as opposed to Fender, or even Gibson. It's like they don't even want people to consider their ESP offerings, unless they make an absolute killing. Not the best business model IMO, but then I'm not running the company...

BTW...I like my LTD Vintage 204 better than any Squier I've ever tried. My ESP Vintage 4 is a nice bass, but doesn't have clear superiority over equivalent Fender models. (bought the ESP used, wouldn't pay $1500 street price for that bass). I haven't tried the Phoenix models as opposed to Thunderbirds, as I haven't found any Phoenix basses available locally.
Bottom line: LTD line, especially with their variety of offerings, is more geared to discussion...and affordability...and features...than the limited models ESP has available. If you want to begrudge the LTD players their place in the discussion...there probably won't be any discussion...just sayin...
I don't know how I missed this club. My favorite fretted bass is my ESP Surveyor II. I played it at Guitar Center, and fell in love. Everything about this bass is amazing. The neck pocket fit is so tight, I can't even fit a razor blade or a Metro Card in there. The neck seems like it was custom made for me with its wide string spacing and think profile. It sustains for days, even with light strings, and it even has some nice wood grain. My two complaints are the weight (14.3 pounds!) and the fact that the preamp has crapped out.

Owner of an ESP LTD F-204 GMB bass. Used from Guitar Center in Virginia Beach, VA for $199. Excellent condition. No dings, dents or scratched. Great tone. Active EMGs and EQ. Nice and easy to play.
I do apologize for the late response... but haven't been back to this thread in a while. Yes, the D-5 is made in Indonesia. Even with that said, I've been playing a LOT more lately and haven't found any problems with quality. I have had to tweak my setup a bit, as I've found that anything played on the B-string came across stronger than the rest. This is likely rookie-learning kind of stuff, both from the setup and playing viewpoints. More to come as I get more experience with this particular instrument.

@mark_beem: I believe it has exactly the same specs as the ESP F415, which Dan Kenny used before getting a signature model. Just a more expensive top. Of course, if price is no bar, you should go for it. Have heard a lot of good stuff about the F series.
