Official ESP club

I just ordered the red Viper 404 today from Sam ash (only store around here that sells ESPs)

check it out at espguitars.com

tell me thats not sick looking

I love the SG body style, and I love the slanted forward one that ESP has ever better.
I can't wait! It will be only my second bass, and my first one I got 7 years ago!:D

I REALLY want an esp F255 but i have a big problem with it

call this immature or lame or whatever you will :ninja:

but i HATE the see thru black paint :hiding:

i want plain black without the ability to see wood

i have no problem with this on other basses

just not on a hella sick twiztid ass metal bass

other than that i love it

That is just the most attractive production bass I think I've ever seen. Drool Drool.

I'll join the club. ESP Horizion with EMG pickups. This is one bass that I will never sell.

Just the opposite for me ;) I think the plain black is kinda boring, and the see-thru adds something different. But I know your frustration. I don't see why the different price ranges of the same bass can't have the same color options...or at least at the more expensive level have the options that the low-end ones have, plus more.

i cant begin to explain my love for the f series
honestly the greatest looking metal bass ever .period.
i dont think you could custom create a better one

if in a dream world i become a major label artist
i would definatly have esp create me a plain black one
with spiffy custom inlays that would run a fortune
prolly like sleeve tatto work thered be skulls tombstones
an vines connecting everything

id prolly even pay a tatto artist to do the design for it

I'm new so I'm not sure how to post pics but I have an ESP F-255Fm and I love it.

I really like the see thru finish but I'm kinda pissed cause I bought mine last year and it was the best 5 string F series they had, now they have the 405 with the inlay and active pups. Guess it's not that big of a deal cause it prolly costs loads more but still.

Only bad part is that the smoked metal finish on the hardware tends to rub off where your hand rubs but that's all cosmetic.

Just wish they made it in a 6!!!!

I got my new Viper 404!! :D :D

This bass looks amazing...I'm so glad I didn't just get black (I chose the see through black cherry).

It sounds great too (from what I can tell as a newb)!

The neck is pretty fast, its ESP's "thin U" neck, which isnt beefy or extra thin. (ESP has "U" and "extra Thin U" also)

Only little problem I have so far is the action is kind of high. After I break the strings in some I'm gonna take it back to Sam Ash where the salesman said he'd adjust it for me. ;)

I'll post some pictures soon, but in the meantime you can check the Vipers out at espguitars.com.

I can't beleive they don't carry these in-store (I had to special order). They would sell the crap out of them I bet.

I now have two ESPs, can I get a membership # now? :hmm:

Hey just got an LTD Viper 404 the other day. Man this is a nice bass... Real emg's (not HZ) 3 band eq, flamed maple top (probably a veneer, but it still looks great. 5 piece set neck. It's just got this great 'feel' that I can't quite describe. I can't believe these aren't more popular.

I'm considering joining the club with something from their custom shop.

What's the U, thin U, extra thin U. it is thin from fretboard to back of neck (so extra thin has highest radius) or is it thin from top to bottom (ie if you took a "U" and sqeezed it) so that U has the highhest radius?

I want a small fast neck with a 38mm nut on an ec body.

Thanks guys

There are some joy basses on display here. congrats to all

Any idea as to what type of pups I've got in mine? All the detail I was told was that they were emg-hz actives. I tried the emg website but no luck.

They are EMG-HZ 35-EP's. They are essentially a passive version of EMG CS soapbars, except they have exposed pole pieces. (Hence, the EP designation) Also, this particular model is made exclusively for ESP by EMG. You won't find them in any other basses. IMO, they are great pickups. Enjoy them. :bassist:
