I have played a Spector NS2000/5 for eight years or something like that, and then like a month ago, my friend let me borrow his MIJ P-Bass for a gig. It had some issues, needed some work, but it was amazing. Had character and a four felt great. I decided I needed to give the Precision a good look.

I went to GC numerous times to play all the different varieties and then one day I noticed a used P-bass with a Badass II on it, so I pulled it down to give a go. I knew nothing about the Highway 1, I just thought this was a hot rod. Then I noticed the finish, and the neck felt completely different the MIM.

Everything about this bass blew me away, so I bought it and I love it. There are a couple of things I want to do it, the first being a complete shielding and star grounding job. It already has Schaler strap locks, but I might change all the hardware out for gold, still debating.

I'll take whatever the next sequential number is.

the photos look great imo.

i know exactly what you mean about the Highway Ones, they are smoking basses. i never considered buying a fender for the longest time,, owned spectors, mtds, bongos, sterlings, even a modulus.

& one day i went into the local guitar shop & plugged in a Highway One P bass,,, ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT,
couldn't talk them down on the price, so i came home & looked here for one,, bought mine the next day ( for much less ) & i been diggin it every since.

Just a question why are they so cheap compared to the mia jazz bass?

Because the hardware is cheaper and the finish takes less time and effort to put on.

i personally prefer the matte finish on the Highway Ones, over the others in the Fender lineup.

Do Highway 1 basses have a matt, non gloss finish? I cant tell? Im looking for a bass that I can make look reliced, my playing time, and a non-clear coat finish would make it that much easier.

BUT THEY NEED TO HAVE A MAPLE NECK OPTION!

Too, there are some people who would tell you that a nitro finish is more resonant than a poly.

Id love in... Love my 06 Highway One Jazz ... slapped a shell pickguard on it... some straplocks..buffed the finish (I prefer gloss)and called it good.
They have a poly undercoat, so any tone voodoo about nitro is BS. They sound great to me though...better than my MIM Jazz...
