FWIW, I use my American Sound for a pre amp, a boost(clean or not so..), an OD or even distortion…it's just versatile as heck.
And I agree on the OJ….nice tones to be had.

In particular since it was advertised as a warm, low gain OD for bass...it has none of the retained low-end that my American Sound...I packed it back up. Deciding if I want to exchange for a Husky Drive, Clean Boost or OJ...
Me too - its a really nice sounding and variable pedal - I like it set with just a touch of hair and use a boost in front of it for more aggressive sounds...
I really wanted the bass OD to fill that void - and use the American as either a warm clean or heavier drive
Okay recently I have purchased a joyo future chorus. I've purchased one out of curiosity and I have to say it sounded pretty good on bass. the chorus sounds reminded me of a danelectro fab chorus. only this pedal sounds a little bit darker. speaking of which i did do comparison between the joyo analog chorus and the future chorus. I would say to my ears, the analog chorus sounds brighter in comparison, while the future chorus sounds a little darker, but both have a pretty lushful sound. over all, they're both good sounding chorus pedals for the price. I will post a thread on my review on the joyo future chorus. and if you guys want, I can do a comparison thread on both the analog and future chorus.
My OJ arrived, only after I left for rehearsal. Won't get to test it out until next Wednesday. I had no idea how tiny this this is!
What's that DI? And how is it? Been thinking of finding a small, cheap DI to add to my board.
It's the Donner one that's the same as the little Mooer, but like $30. It's been fine. My finger is in the way because the led on the DI is blinding.
I am back to having many Joyos on my board again. I have to say that they do indeed sound awesome. Looking to pick up an American Sound... not pictured is my D-Seed which is an absolutely stunning digital delay.
Just thought I would check back in regarding the Dr J Sparrow since I have had a chance to play with it more. To me, it is a lot like the BDDI with that scooped mid and sizzling highs thing happening, but not quite as severe and having the mix knob certainly helps you find a balance you like. My intention for this pedal was to use it on a little board I have for IEM gigs where I don't need effects, or as a second channel in front of an amp. Tried it in front of my Eden rig, sounded great. Tried it in front of my Markbass TTE500/2xNV115 rig and didn't like it as much. Come to think of it, when I used it with the Eden rig it was with a P bass, the other was with a Musicman SR5H. I di like the way a BDDI plays with a P bass, so that might be it. It doesn't really get into OD until the top 1/3 of the drive knobs range and it is quite bright.

how does the joyo compare to the POG at the things they do in common (ie unaffected octave up performance and tracking?) have been looking at a micro pog forever and the various other options and still haven't decided on what I want to spend on an octave.
If you want an octave pedal, I suggest the Mooer Tender Octaver, it's the best at its price point. They don't make them anymore but they can be found used.

Just purchased a Joyo California Sound to be delivered on the 2nd week of May for only $32! With free shipping here to our country! Might subside my GAS of a MESA Subway DI Preamp. Hoping the California nails the Mesa Boogie tone nicely.
It sounds amazing. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
Can you guys update me on the noise interference with these pedals ? I saw a couple of reviews saying the American sound picks up radio stations . That makes it unsuitable for live performances .
What's your experience ?
I'm interested in this pedal for the DI feature and the tone capabilities .
But if it's picking up radios , I'd better save for a sans amp !
