OK - so "Project Ebony" is dead (really dead) for reasons I think would take too long to go over....let's just way that production demands at Lakland are too much for a "special bass" such as this right now....and I do not want to wait too long for a Chi equiped bass.....so I am on the prowl for "options".....Dan (ever "GREAT guy" that he is) is seeing what he may be able to do for me (as far as parts he has in stock etc., spec basses, cancelled orders, etc.).......we'll see......when he/I come up with something I will let you know.......at least the "positive" is that this may be cheaper since I may not be adding any "special options"....

Whoa, oa, oah; what does that sound like? :bassist:
Really tasty! It's strung with Chrome flats, but the Dark Star is so sensitive that you can get growl and even some bark if you dig in. Play with a lighter touch and it's rich, fat and pillowy. Between that and my Skyline Decade with rounds, I could cover just about any of the genres I like! But I do have a couple of other basses I love.:D

That's too bad, although I guess it's great for our friends at Lakland that they are THAT busy. Best of luck with ChiFrankenstein.

Well guys, keep your fingers crossed. We've been evacuated from our house as an ice storm has taken down a number of trees and power lines . I got my pregnant wife and dog out, but the studio in the detached garage was already blocked off by a limb as big around as me, and live power lines, so I couldn't get any of my gear. I certainly am thankful that we got out OK, as I saw a house across the street get CLOBBERED while I was de-icing the car. Hopefully we will have power and access in the next couple of days. In the meantime, how about a pic of those left behind.....

I'm soooooojealous of that "banana cream"....here's hopin' that my DJ gets that color some day!!!

You're gonna have people thinkin' that's a real color option or something :D. Anyways, it's probably more of a vanilla ice cream color :p. I can't get over the colors in the pickguard! Sounds silly, but I've never seen a tort like it. And, it goes so well with the basses colors. And to think, I was considering trading her the other day for a non-Lakland :hiding:. I should be chastised severely!

Sorry bro.

Consider yourself chastised severely. Bad Jedi! Bad bad Jedi!

Whoa, do they still make NON-Laklands? Hmmm, didn't realize it. Thought those went the way of the dinosaurs. Oh well, chastizing commenced.

Thanks guys for all the kind words. I feel blessed that we were actually able to make it out and get to a place with power (my sister-in-law). I'm going to try to get back over to the house today just to check things out and maybe get some pics as well.
Man, that stinks, glad you got out safely! Best of luck with everything, keep us posted.

You've got the important stuff out of the house. Take care and best of luck to you and yours.

Thanks guys. Just got back from the house, and although it sucks, it could've been a LOT worse (as you can see in the pics). Still can't get in the studio, so I have no idea if there was any damage (looks like there COULD be some damage on the roof, but won't know until it thaws). Still doesn't look like we'll get power this week, but the house seems OK.

First pic is of the garage (studio)

Next pic is the backyard between the garage and the house...
