All I know is my Korean (non-Plek of course) DJ5 neck is amazing. My 55-94's neck is amazing. My USJO5's that's been thru Tobias's hands after leaving Chicago, is amazing. Right now, I can't tell a real difference.

When I finally get enough fretwear on one of them, I'll send it in for a PLEKing.

Ah. That's too bad.

LOL, you don't have to be in it. Although gig shots are cool.

haven't done any gigging yet since i just got it about 2 hours ago from USPS. luckily the crack doesn't show up in these pics since my camera is not a camera irl, but tries to be one. (lol phone w/cam)

Here are a few pics. serial # 02022903

I was actually gonna check out the JO flats...maybe i'll do that instead. I don't like the strings that are on it now...the blue nylon wrapping at the end just looks off to me and i would rather just have it be black or no wrapping at all.

I have some LaBella Tapewounds on a non-Lakie fretless and I like them alot.
is it a thru-body bridge? on juststrings, all the other labella flats have a note saying not for thru-body bridge designs.
This is interesting. I also have a non-Lakie fretless bass with Labella tapes that I really like. What's interesting is that it IS a thru-body bridge, its the specific string set recommended by the bass-maker AND a picture of this model bass is featured on Invalid Link Removed under the words 'world' and 'music'. (I'm talking about a Rob Allen Deep 5).

I don't know how that squares with LaBella saying 'not for thru-body bridge designs'.

Lakland 5ers are 35" scale, could that be the reason??

Well guys, keep your fingers crossed. We've been evacuated from our house as an ice storm has taken down a number of trees and power lines . I got my pregnant wife and dog out, but the studio in the detached garage was already blocked off by a limb as big around as me, and live power lines, so I couldn't get any of my gear. I certainly am thankful that we got out OK, as I saw a house across the street get CLOBBERED while I was de-icing the car. Hopefully we will have power and access in the next couple of days. In the meantime, how about a pic of those left behind.....

Prayers for a quick and "painless" return to your house.....I am glad you got your "main" loved ones out.....as for the "secondary" ones - they will be just fine.....if not, your home insurance should cover some of the damage (?)...also - I assume you have a rider for that gear?

good luck and let us all know when you are "back to normal"...well, we are Lakland addicts and THAT is NEVER normal...you know what I mean.....oh darn...better be quite now.....rambling too much.....I am done...really....

You're gonna have people thinkin' that's a real color option or something :D. Anyways, it's probably more of a vanilla ice cream color :p. I can't get over the colors in the pickguard! Sounds silly, but I've never seen a tort like it. And, it goes so well with the basses colors. And to think, I was considering trading her the other day for a non-Lakland :hiding:. I should be chastised severely!

YES you should!!! trade only a Lakie for a Lakie - THAT is my motto!

It SHOULD be a "real color"....Oly white? harumpf!

Thanks guys. Just got back from the house, and although it sucks, it could've been a LOT worse (as you can see in the pics). Still can't get in the studio, so I have no idea if there was any damage (looks like there COULD be some damage on the roof, but won't know until it thaws). Still doesn't look like we'll get power this week, but the house seems OK.

First pic is of the garage (studio)

Next pic is the backyard between the garage and the house...
