Here are two of my three--still no good shots of my CAR DJ. I don't think Robear will mind if I repost a couple shots from last weekend's mini-GTG. I look like I'm falling asleep in this first one (and my technique looks even worse than usual
), but it shows the grain of my Skyline Decade and what the finish looks like under the bright lights. The second shot is self-explanatory.

Thanks, I've heard it said that the newer 55/44-94s don't have as nice a figuring in the Birdseye. Mine's older, and I must say, it's striking. That photo ALMOST captures it. I'm a pretty proud pappa.

That's it, I'm borrowing my Nana's camera tomorrow and posting my 55-94's, I haven't posted both of them yet! I don't even have a pic of my TTS one. Now remembering what I did to post pics last has been so long ago that I don't think I know how to anymore. Could somebody give me instructions on how to post the big pics? Any help is greatly appreciated, I'm not well versed on the PC yet.
Most people post pictures this way: Take the pictures with the camera and then, as you're posting, rub the camera against the back of your monitor until the picture appears on your screen.
I prefer to upload pictures to photobucket.com. You just set up an account there and upload your pictures to their site. They give you a direct URL to view the picture. Copy that URL. Then, on the post screen here on TB, click on the little yellow rectangle with the mountains and sun (tooltip says "insert picture." Paste your url into that window and click ok.
I never can get the first way to work, so I use photobucket.
Since everybody's posting their Laklands in this new thread, here's a little different spin on this theme. Mine plays beautifully, but came to me with a little bit of road wear. This one's pretty beat up. I steamed all the scrapes out of the back the neck; they are completely gone.
I don't mind the chips and dings - I can leave it out of the case without worrying about it getting hurt. I don't understand how you do this to such an expensive instrument, though. I create any dings on my own, and I dont think I've ever banged into something hard enough to chip the finish.
It became my favorite four string pretty much the instant I first played it.

My tts bass has quite a bit of player wear, but I absolutely love the mojo factor and barely touch my newer, dingless bass anymore. And yes I wonder how somebody would spend that much on an instrument just to beat it up, but it does present a comfortability factor.

Hey, it's not the bassists that are banging up the Lakies, for the most part it's those blasted drunk drummers and vocalists. Speaking of wear, anybody besides me always getting twisted up in their instrument cable from always spinning in the clockwise direction while playing? I can't stand still and won't spin to the left for fear of spinning the back of my headstock into a wall, rig, computer monitor, human... Anybody else jammed their headstocks into the ceiling? We practice in a basement w/ dropped ceiling, probly 7.5 feet or so, and I'm 6'5". I've done that more than once when switching basses

Guess I should be glad there's no ceiling fan, one practice seesion and I'd look like Herman Munster playing a Steinberger .Oh, phat daddy... while on TB, open another tab to goto your photobucket account. In photobucket after pulling your pics over from the computer, scan your cursor over the pic and your choices pop out below the pic. Leftclick on the bottom one (for forums), the word "copied" appears. Then in your thread reply box, type your reply, and just right click-> choose "paste", and the pic will show in full size in the thread. That's how i do it anyways.

You're welcome. My GF had to show me this stuff. She's 11 years younger and much more skilled w/ the 'puter. I didn't even know about tabs and copy/paste a year ago.

I've learned to avoid hitting the ceiling so long as its normal height, but I have nailed the ceiling fan before. The strings and the machine heads offer some protection for the headstock, and most fan blades are pretty soft wood...
OUCH! My worst impact (non bass related) was when i was moving once. We had a heavy hanging glass bowl type chandelier, it hung over where the dining room table HAD been (emphasis on HAD), because if the table hadn't already been moved... Well I was watching where i stepped w/ a heavy box and centered the bridge of my nose on the edge of the bowl. Never even saw it coming, 'bout took me down I hit it so hard. Split me open good, blood dripping almost immediately. Needed stitches, but I figure a few scars here and there give the average looking guys a chance
kidding of course. Well you guys know that, you've seen my mug , proof God has a sense of humor. 
no im at 6, i dont have the 55-01 anymore...or are you talking about my total # of basses? 9
