Myspace... I loathe facebook. I'm on there, but hate it. At the same time, I think facebook reaches more people.

my luthier just called to tell me he finished the set up on my 44-01 after changing out to the fretless neck... so, we have to test drive her tonight.

Ditto. I find MySpace more about marketing me and the band. Facebook is more social networky. Both can be a pain to keep up with. Now I am supposed to be twittering and/or tweeting people, too. Ugh, no thanks.

I know some of you may be concerned about the well being of our friend Doug(Basspraiser). He has been absent for quite a while. Did his wife finally kick him out of the house for buying too many Laklands?
No he's just been working too hard to pay for them.
I just spoke to him. He says he's sorry for ignoring us.
He will post pictures of his new US JO5 as soon as he can.
Saturday we had our LOG management meeting and GregC and I got to play it. It is beautiful, and awesome sounding!!
We miss you buddy, hurry back. We miss your 14 posts in a row. After this long it will be a hell of a wave.

here are some of the first pics....and what a better place to take them than in front of my new Digital HD TV (BTW: the Superbowl looked GREAT on it!):

sorry - my poor photography skills and the lighting do not do the color or MOP blocks justice.....she is really one of the most beautiful basses I have ever seen and does she have a temper!!!!

I played it at church for the first time on Sunday and I will have to admit, it plays better than most of my other Laklands...they are all good, but this one plays sweeter than sweet! John and Greg can attest to that...

after the sevice the sound guy came up to me ans wanted to know what I did different than before because this was the best bass he said he has heard me play yet (and he admitted that was something since he LOVES the rest of the stable)...she growls and has some GREAT tones......inds like a J bass on steroids.....

I am sorry that "Project Ebony" did not come to fruition but this is easing the pain ALOT!!!

now: Surf's up!!!! Post 'em if you can fit 'em in between mine!!!

Twas the Curbow 33 fret 6er that was in the classifieds. It was just a thought, I quickly wondered back from the DARKside.

That Curbow was sweet though, just wasn't a perfect match for me.

well....you are "Almost" forgiven....I can see where that would be a temptation......nice to see you are really brainwashed (uh...I mean......happy) with Laklands!!!

sorry my friend...you guys have "special orders" mine was a "if want it off the shelf" you can have it.....but (as they say on the Chinese menus)...NO SUBSTITUTIONS....

besides, I do have to wait.....the JOCS came Friday but I do not know when the 55-07 will get here...it had to go back to Lakland for a pick guard (OK - one "option") etc....

divorce? no she does not believe in divorce.....killing yes - but not divorce....which reminds me....who do I trust enough to put my Laklands in the hands of to sell should she kill me? who needs insurance? I know have 6 Laklands!!!

I just been tinkering around with my new lakland syline bob glaub and it is I can honestly say one of the nicest bass's I've ever played... straight out of the box. As soon as I picked it up I loved the neck feel and then after sitting down and playing everything felt just right... I think what is helping is the wider neck to that of my jazz - i think it suits my hands more.

It looks a bit weird.. smaller than I thought - but im going from my big body jazz to this so that can be expected! The mint pickguard actually looks classy too.. might give the tort guard a miss. Tone/vol pots were really smooth and nice as well as the tuning gears, frets are perfect, pickup height perfect.

The finish is nice as well as the wood grain...A little bit of residue on the bass but that really is nothing and is expected.

all in all i'm ecstatic with it... kinda dont want to take it out on tour now!!

great news!!! take it on tour...that is what Laklands are for! Make the bass players and guitarist in the audience wonder what you have that sounds so special!!!
