Thanks! The silver knob is a passive tone control The switch goes from singles to humbuckers. The humbuckers are HUGE!!!
*nodding and smiling* I told ya about the 'buckers! I'm still loving the heck out of my Decade, it's so versatile! And Markus, if you haven't tried it yet: Humbucker mode, bridge pup solo'd--downright nasty! Not as much high end on the buckers, but DAMN they are thick...I mean...wake up the neighbors and there dead dog buried in the back yard thick! When I'm running the buckers, with the LH3 flat, and switch to single mode, The high end gets defined, but I do need to bump up the low end a little. This bass really does it all. I've extremely impress with it. Those guys are so good it is ridiculous!

Didn't someone here buy this a while ago and there were a bunch of problems with it? Or am I confused with something else. I remember a story about a US Lakland someone bought used from GC. Because I actually posted the link. This was maybe October or November?

Well I've always said Lakland is my end all bass maker, and they still are, but I haven't owned a 6 since I bought my first 55-94. I'm starting to do a lot more soloing, I'm woodshedding like crazy and it just seems like some of the applications I want to execute in the upper range get stopped prematurely, and I'm beginning to find my 5 strings limiting my scope and potential in the solo sections of what I'm trying to accomplish in my playing.
If Lakland offered a 6, I would buy one in a heartbeat, but I'm pretty darn sure a day of Lakland 6's is far, far away, so I've been prowling in the MTD thread looking at Mike Tobias's 6 string basses, and I've played a couple and although they don't feel as good as a Lakland to me, the tone and craftmanship were on par.
So now I'm gassing a 635 but I feel like a cheating husband looking at another brand. I still love my 55-94's and will never sell them, but I need to expand to an equally well-made 6.

That finish looks amazing!!
I'm starting a "I hate Markus thread". PM me for numbers, not all at once though.... don't wanna overload the system.
Hey, explain for me what that tone control does exactly PLEEEEASE.
Nice!! I knew you couldn't resist that bass. That's one beautiful bass man! Congrats Markus!!! I bet it is killer! I talked Kirk into doing an Ash body with a solid color finish on mine, rather than doing alder. I've changed it from Olympic White to Pearl White by the way. Man, I tell you what Kirk has been amazing to work with! Lakland are great people!
