Strange enough the A and D are almost perfect The neck relief is fine, even higher that what Lakland recommends so it seems to need a bit of a fret level. I was thinking about taking it up to Lakland to have it Plek'd. Never played a Plek'd bass so I don't really know if it will be worth it but the frets are so small on this thing I would really hate to take it to a local bozo and get it screwed up.

Would be grateful for your opinions.

My 55-02 was plek'd and i'm definitely going to ask them to do it to future used Laklands i get. the 55-02 played very well. I think you just need to play it to see what it's like. Maybe they would have something on hand that you could try out if you're physically going there.

ive had 3 basses that were plek'd, they all play extremely well and are capable of very low, buzz free action. i guarantee that if you send that thing to lakland, you will get a very sweet playing bass back. for the amount that bass is worth you would be wise to send it to them and let them set it up.and plek it if needed

I would take it to Lakland and see what they suggests...plek, or hand done since it is a US bass. Not sure if that even matters, but leave it to the experts!

I think I should have joined this group long ago, but who holds the record for most Lakland's owned?

3 - 55-02's
2 - Darryl Jones 5's
3 - Bob Glaubs
5 - Joe Osbornes
1 - Hollowbody

I'm probably far from the record, but 14 is a lot of Laklands to have owned.

Still currently own 4.

I've owned 3 skylines and still have 2 of those:
55-02 (Sold to finance the JO5 CS)
