Well. Ole' Blue has been around a LONG time, she was the first bass I bought when I started playing after a "very young children" lay-off. I guess I got her in about '97...

BTW, cheap phone/camera, but a little bit better picture of the Step Sisters...

So Fenders "stay put" but the Lakies are a revolving door.....hmmmmmm......what does that say????:smug:

So I left Indy about 9 AM (after doing a little work) and started on my way - after a frustrating 30+ minutes looking for a Starbucks (darn GPS led me astray 2-3 times!!) I headed for Chicago.

Arrived at Lakland about noon and treated Dan, Leo and Carl to some Pottbelly's and spent about 2 hours there....

good news and bad news....

Bad news: Dan cannot do the limited run we have for the LOG basses (we suggested 20 but he still needs 25+) so this will have to be tabled until the economy gets better. Sorry!!!! we tried - however, i would like to thank you all for your support - we WILL do this!!!

Good News:

1) played Carl's 4-76 - wowsa! (see previous post)

2) saw Pino's bass - ubber cool!

3) Evans neck - hawt hawt hawt

4) Carl was working on the prortotype 19 fret short scale....it is supposed to fit ANY US BASS!!!! production date not set...however, if you want one....let Dan or Leo know so they know if there is interest (Evan???? - maybe not too late to change your fretted DJ???)

5) Leo has some GREAT stuff for sale (see LOG site)

6) I am working on something with Leo to ease my 5 banger fretless GAS....hopefully more later....

7) saw a few 6 stringed items that looked suspiciously like guitars....hmmm??????

8) They are all pumped for the 23rd!!!

J4 - I could not belirve it!!!! I accidentally left your pickguards at lakland!!!! Leo is keeping them safe......I will be making another trip there soon anyways :hiding:- so I Will pick them up then.

he was busy today (partially with me) ....sorry dude!!!

that's alright...i don't really have a use for them, so if they are shipped out with the bass, then that's ok with me.

:bassist:

your son sure is learning on the best!!! how old is he? my 6 year old wants to play - even bought her a VERY short scale Samick but she loses attention after 5 minutes....gets frustrated that she cannot "play like Daddy"....I keep telling her it took me 20 years to get as bad as I am!!!

Hey guys I figured I would let you know if you were interested but buyers remorse finally won over and I returned the Joe Osborn to the Guitar Center in Davenport, IA today. It was sad to do because tone wise that bass is almost perfect but the E string and I couldn't get along, just a lot more fret buzz than I'm used to. Carl thought I plucked a bit hard so I tried to change my right hand technique but after 18 years it's hard to teach this old dog new tricks. A very sad day......:bawl:

Nice! My sons a Lakland player too! Nice pair you have there!
