Official Markbass Club Pt. 2

Well... I'm now a Markbass believer.
I got to try my new LM800 for the first time at a gig last night and I'm still smiling.
We got stuck doing speakers on a stick with vocals only for like 1000 people at the ball drop in North Tonawanda, NY... Outside! I actually thought that there was going to be sound provided, oh well. ha
Regardless... Jazz bass, NeoX212t, and the LM800 with input at 11am and master at about 10am. That LM didn't even break a sweat and I play pretty aggressively (funky blues). Even at high volume, my thumb hard into the E string resulted in a tight loud and low sound that can only be described as AWESOME. ha Seriously... no amp that I've had previously could handle a thumb at a volume loud enough for that many people to enjoy it. We had the whole crowd moving, even before they were all obliterated!
The NeoX212t is still the champ, btw.
Anyway, if you need headroom... the 800 is the ticket. I can't comment on the tone vs. the other MB heads... as I've never gigged them... but the LM800 sounds great. I can only compared it to the other 10 heads I've played on stage in the last couple of years... and this thing played effortlessly, had the people all moving to the groove, and was a total pleasure to play through.

Where did you come up with this rating??? Still a little foggy from last night???
The MB website states 800 RMS @ 4 ohm and 500 watts RMS @ 8 ohms.
The owners munual states the following Iam reading it as I read it.

On the LM vs SD power thing, it's strange... the SD 800 is 750/450 but the LM 800's (tube or not) are 800/500. Even the Sd 1200 is 750 into 8 ohms, not 800. The really odd part is, I thought they used the exact same power section.

I completely agree that it is an awesome micro amp for sure! I've had all the current high powered offerings on the gig and the LMT800 is clearly my favorite. It's the only one that has the low end booty to keep the dance floor packed. The MB live in gig bag is the best idea for ease of set up I've seen as well. It's just "icing on the cake". Of course this is just IMHO.
