Well, I have had owned the shuttle 6.0 and the wt405 (but not the 550), not that famaliar with GK. I have used them in rehearsal studios, but have not owned one.

vs the shuttle 6.0....

I find the mb warmer, with more low-end on tap and its capable of producing more overall volume vs the shuttle. The shuttle is more high-fi / modern, while the markbass achieves vintage/old school better-easier IMO/IME. Both great amps, but quite different sounding.

vs the wt405....

I havent owned the 405 in a number of years, however, I do find the MB warmer with a little more volume ability. The 405 has better features such as mute, 2 ohm capable and better di. However tonally, the LMII that I own is just more my sound, plus it weighs less than half of the 405.

Cant really comment vs GK, since I have not owned one.

The LM tube, it has been said, does not have a strong tube sound with the tube 'engaged'. Most says its subtle. However, it has also been said that the louder you play the more noticeable it is. The MB rep says that the reason the tube doesnt seem to be more than subtle is because the LM stuff sounds fairly close to tube already. Many have made that claim as well.

Overall, the best thing to do is go down to a music store and A/B them yourself. Or even just buy one from GC give it the full 30 days to try out and then return it if not fully satisfied. The only real way to find out if an amp works for *you* is to have it out on a number of gigs in rooms with different acoustic properties.

If you check my profile, you'll see that I have gone thru a number of quality amps and the LMII is by far my favourite for the tone I seek.... which is a warm yet still punchy, P-bass with flats type sound.

Hey guys, I've got an LMII on its way to me as well as an Epifani t310 with UL drivers. Anyone wanna give me an idea of what my tone will be like? :) I've been playing through a walkabout scout exclusively for a while now and wanted to try something new.

Just got the Little Mark III about a month ago. This head defies logic. With my new Geddy Lee Jazz with Duncans Quarter Pounders and an EMG BTC control, I can almost blow the windows out of my house with the volume at about 3. How Markbass got this super tiny head's 300 watts at 8 ohms to sound like SVT (tube) 300 watts I don't know.

It should be fine. Epifani matches up well with the LMII. The LMII is a loud 500w so even if you get 450w (or whatever) with the 5.3 ohms you should be good... of course alot of it depends on how loud your band is, how many other instruments you compete with etc.

If you are going to get a UL310 see if you can get the series one version as its about 10LBS lighter.

I have that rig, and it sounds amazing. Very old school warmth. It has more volume than you would imagine. I have turned mine up to 12:00 once, and it was pushing a ton of air. I have owned the Shuttle 6.0, but IMHO it did not have the headroom that I was looking for, and not nearly as much bottom. The LM II defies physics. I have also owned a walkabout Scout, and there is no comparison as to volume, bottom, tone, weight. You name it, the rig that you are getting is awesome.

awesome...its good to hear some positive comments. I was almost goign to buy a schroeder 1212, but changed my mind at the last niute. I think the T310 weighs around 57lbs according to the previous owner so its not horrible, but not as light as the straight UL.

And Virgli, we both have Skjolds so I'm thinking we might have a very similar sound!

p0k- the LMII at 5.3 ohms SHOULD be SO close to the LMII at 4ohms that it'll hardly be ANY difference IMO. the LMII running at -or close to -full pwr is a darn loud amp & U should be good with that set up. The LMII's VLE is SO good for getting a vintage type sound & a touch(under 8pm) of the VPF - I hardly touch the EQ at all unless the room is bad EQ-wise

Hi guys, just got a LMII a week or so ago. Its technically my first amp and I love it :D

Currently I'm playing through a rented Traynor TC115 and I can't get over how awesome this thing is!

Can we still get numbers?
