I wonder how many of us new members are in with the LMII? Almost all of us?

I must say, I was a skeptic when Markbass first started appearing at Guitar Center. Every time I was trying out something they would always push Markbass amps. I was suspicious of this but I did try the TA 501 head and liked it. At the time it was out of my price range. Then recently, largely apart from hearing all the happy LMII users here, I was using the LMII was my test head and ended up getting some major GAS for it.

Most people get the LMII because it's plenty good for the vast majority of people's needs while only costing $650. The other amps are great, but they're a harder sell than a 500w amp that costs $650.

They actually sound really good too................The SD800 really drives them to perfection! Great clear sound even at higher levels. The Markbass stuff seems to have the capability of driving cabinets at higher volume/gain, without premature "clipping".............These cabinets sound better and have more "head room" than with the last Amp head I had them paired with...............

Just picked up a 121P, and I'll be picking up the matching extension cab when it comes out in a few months. I like it...I managed to get a tone that was pretty DB750-esque.

jason - the matching cab for the 121P is the 121H. It's been available for some time here in Canada. The cab is the same width, but deeper and taller than the combo. They fit together and look slick as a mini-rig. Huge downward frequency extension and stage power when you match up the combo and 121H. I highly recommend them. Both the combo and cab weigh within a few pounds of eachother - both very light!

Nope, that's not the one I'm talking about.

There's a 12" cab coming out in a few months that is the same dimensions as the Mini 121p.

If I come across a 121H cheap I might do it, otherwise I'm probably going to go with the one that's the same size.

Does anybody know if you can use an American Little Mark II in other countries with different mains supplies?

You can but it has to be switched over by their warranty place in Massachusetts or it voids the warranty. Someone posted a thread on how to do it a while back, but the usual disclaimers apply.

Finally, my local GC got some Markbass stuff in. Tried the Little Mark II into the matching 2x10 cab, and it's got a great sound. Can't really describe it, but it's awesome. I know what I'm getting if I ever need a new, lightweight head.

Though it was hard to hear because today was metalheads-playing-at-11-through-large-marshall-stacks day at Guitar Center, so I couldn't get a good listen to the full tone.

Fretless basses sound like pure sweetness through it though.

You know what's strange... I used to think Markbass amps looked cheap and awful but I'm starting to see a certain cool vibe with them now.

Strange when that happens with gear.

I still don't care for the yellow cones, just because there are situations where it does matter and I don't want something that flashy. The yellow faces on the heads don't bother me so much since it's not quite as visible.

Yeah it is strange. It's psychological. I had the same issue-- they looked cheap and gaudy. But since they're so dang cool and everybody likes them, and hey-- they're Italian. Nuff said. I didn't finish that though... since everybody likes them, they don't look so stupid any more.

Really, what's not so stupid is $599 worth of feather-weight, loud, good tone.
