Used the LMII this past weekend at an outdoor gig direct out and at this bar gig. It sounded great with volume to spare.

FWIW, Michael Manring is now a Markbass endorser. I happen to really like his playing, and thought it was interesting he has moved from SWR to Markbass.
Really, what's not so stupid is $599 worth of feather-weight, loud, good tone.

Moving from SWR to Markbass makes total sense for any player IMO. You can get a good clean, powerful modern SWR-ish tone from the MB gear, and in a much smaller and lighter package.
I just played Pot Belly's in Tallahassee with my Led Zeppelin Tibute band. The sound guy looked at me funny after I plugged his bass XLR into my LMII. He asked me what else my DI thingy did. I told him that was my amp. He was skeptical when I told him it was 500 watts.
Once he heard my MIA Jazz V with OBP-3 going through my LMII into a Schroeder 21012L
, he said it was the best bass tone he's had in the last month or so, and it was the best solid state tone he's heard.

I'd really love to get some MarkBass gear (that would I have to keep a job for longer than a couple of weeks first!). My eye's on the LM II and maybe one of the traveller 102p cabs, i'd love a 104 HLF cab as well for bigger gigs. But then maybe i'd go for 2 traveller 102p cabs at 8 ohms... or a traveller 102p cab at 8 ohms and then a 104 HLF cab at 8 ohms. So basically a 610 rig! That'd be sweet!... Im getting in over my head here... I need to get some money first. Do you guys know if the MarkBass amps are any good for jazz? And I mean proper big band jazz like Dizzy Gillespie and Thelonius Monk. Cheers guys. Hope to be a part of this club one day!
A more compact and adequate setup would be the 102P with the 151P. Each cabinet is only 30-some pounds a piece and when together they get crazy loud. Most of the time I can get by with the 102P. But since both cabs are so light, I can easily one hand them and still make my load-in in one trip. As you can see, when stacked they're a little taller than a 410.
As far as jazz, they handle it no problem. Between the VLE and VPF you have it made, the cabinets themselves just allow you to hear your instrument the way it should be heard in a mix. So far I've had no complaints in any musical context.
I just came back from Guitar Center with a Mini 121P. This thing has more than enough volume for any situation for me. I was able to negotiate a little off the price (should have gone this past weekend when GC was doing 10% off) and had a couple of things to trade in so I walked out with the combo for $600. Would have liked to get one in the box but this one looked mint and doesn't seem as though anyone has played it. Too bad they couldn't find the manual, but I got it from the Markbass site.
Guess I should apply for a # too, since my LMII has completely taken over "small rig" duty which covers 90% of my work.
Here's my LMII in a laptop bag I got for free. Sling that over the shoulder & it's completely "invisible". Currently using a T-shirt for padding but I'm going to rig up something with cardboard & packing foam for more convenience & better protection.
So I wonder what kind of amp technology they are going to have 30 years from now that will make this seem bulky & unbearably heavy?

On top of the Neox 212! Just what I've been using! Sounds great doesn't it? The full, even tone of the LMII compliments the punchy aggressiveness of the 212 perfectly. Nice job!
Definitely sounds fantastic. The tone controls do a great job of letting the character of the cab either shine or be tamed, depending.
I'm a happy camper. I can't wait to gig it!
