I bought a CMD121P in May on the strength of postings on TB. Amps always sound different in the shop so it was good to see some postings about how it works in teh real world. I could not be happier. Suits my Pbass and fretless a treat. No photo as yet by I'm sure you know what it looks like. Can I get a member number?

The Markbass manual suggests using setting the preamp to a level just below clipping (about 10 o'clock for my Pbass) and then setting the master for the volume you want. I barely have the master volume above the first or second level for the small bar gig I've been doing but there is so much extra there I can't imagine how loud it would go (I did hook it up to an old 4x10 and it was awesome!).

WOW!!!!! Robbie S. ( of SLY & ROBBIE fame) is using MB!! Thats his rig???? Is that 2 4x10"s there? Who/ which outfit was he playing in here- how was it??? He's been one of my faves since about 1979!!!!!:hyper:

HANG ON a min... Don't U need 18" or at LEAST 15"s to play reggae or dub?????????? ;-)

Personally i hated the 151p (the old, square one). I didnt find it any use as a single cab rig. It seemed to run out of steam very early (before the master was halfway) and sounded very compressed at this volume.
Tested next to a bigger 1x15 (UL115) there was just no comparison.
I guess it depends what sort of gigs and volume you need though but my vote goes to the HR15.

The idea that 15's or 18's go 'deeper' than any other sized speaker is one of the great myths of the bass world. It's all about cabinet tuning and having enough clean watts and cone area/cab size to drive a deep tone at volume.

I assume he's using an SA503, with either an SD800 or SA450 (can't tell) for backup (given that his DI out seems plugged into only the 503. Those particular 410's are voicing deep and dark to my ears, so that rig would make sense for his tone.

I just had to chime in again and say how much I love my LMII!! I have been using it for a little over a month now and each day it impresses me again. :)

I pulled all the basses out and ran them through the amp. Each bass sounds better than through my old amps.

I think that it is letting each bass sound like itself. The character of the Stingray and the Bongo shine through, and who can argue with the volume through a single 4X10 for most any gig??

I take it out for its first real gig this weekend and am stoked for it. Two gigs this Saturday and Friday gigs over the next three weeks. This is going to be fun! :hyper:

Have to agree with the continually being impressed sentiment, although this time is this down to a new cab. I was pretty impressed with the LMII through my Ashdowns, but I had a hankering after some 12"s. After comparing Schroeders with Aggies I got myself a Schro 1212L. Gigged it this weekend OMG:eek: Best on stage sound ever and FOH it just sat in it's own space in the mix (no PA reinforcement) clear as a bell. The LMII seems made for Schroeder cabs if the general TB reaction is anything to go by. Loving the smallness too.

I bought an LMK II last week and I am so impressed. I can easily dial in any tone I like (having to dial very little actually). I have a hard time doing my best not to like it better than my Fafner....can you believe that??? :help:

Here is (part of) my markbass rig.

I have a LMII with 2 121h cabs.

Love it to so much! It's such a good sounding, portable mini stack.

I allready have it for year, but it's the first picture I made.

Can I join the club guys?
