That is if you can find anyone who always wanted a Midnight Blue one and didn't just buy one from MF. Let's see we got over 35 on this thread alone and I'm sure there are tons of people who aren't even associated with this thread who bought one or will be buying one. Add to that someone who is willing to pay $2600 for one. A lot of factors play in to give you 100% profit.

If mine had yellow binding I would send it back. Luckily my binding was pure white.

You got the exact same set up I use as my back up rig. Ampeg SVT-15E and GK 400RB. I bought the GK new in
'87 and even after getting much more expensive equipment, never once thought about selling it. I use it for the smaller venues too. It gets a really great sound.

Jerry's from Europe... ATM, brand new MID is 2299€ (~3200USD) here in Europe... It's more than 1oo% :)

You know, it's funny (all things considered), I just took delivery (10 days ago) of a 2010 MapleGlo. Came in a box that was packaged at the UPS store. Got here in PERFECT condition. So, not knowing where the damage came from, it's sort of hard to pin it down, but I am with the consensus here that Rickenbacker should pack these instruments a little better before shipping them out to dealers.

No doubt that these models have sat in the Distribution center in Kansas City since last year and pretty much ANYTHING could have happened to them in the interim....but yours - Pmajers - looks to have been dropped from the top rack in the warehouse and bounced off the floor two or three times.....and, take my word for this....itcan most definitely happen in a warehousing situation.....

I am glad that MF will take it back - I would give them a second chance to make this right - hell if it happens again at least they are aware of the problem....

I finally had a bit of time with it. It's very nice.

1. Tweaked the rods 1/8 of a turn and the neck is a bit straighter, almost dead straight. Will wait a day or two and check again.
2. Lowered the action using the appropriate tool that came with the bass that allows lowering the bridge.
3. Lower the pickups a bit as the output was very hot at this point and the A string was overpowering after I lowered the bridge.

It plays great and sounds very unique (in a good way.)

If you remember I bought it on behalf of a friend. He's going to be one happy camper. Thing is he is the drummer in my band.. He collects instruments for his studio. I'll get to play it whenever I want.

Just so everyone is clear: the bass is great! Im just playing 5s now and my buddy really wants it. (and I can play it anytime). I'm selling it to him for exactly what it cost me.

Well, mine might be going back for another reason. I've only played it for a short while, but the fret work seems disappointing. I haven't even adjusted the neck and bridge yet (letting it acclimatize) and I have unacceptable levels of string/fret buzz. I am comparing this to my PLEK'd 55-01. Some would say that's an unfair comparison. Others would say that a bass that is normally $2,000 should compare quite favorably to a PLEK'd 55-01.

Here's mine. Just arrived by UPS 2nd day air. Flawless. Manufactured in March 2010. Medium-low action (the way I like it); no truss rod adjustment necessary.

Was a half step out of tune.

Sounds amazing through my G-K MB115. Sounds just like a Ric!
Glorious.

I've wanted one of these since seeing the "Exit Stage Left" video when I was a kid, and the desire was reinforced after seeing Motorhead in 1986.

Couldn't have afforded it had it not been for this sale.

LOVE IT.
