Oh, I vibrate the hell out of the stage.. lol When paired with a Warwick $$, it's awesome! I came to this set up replacing an Acoustic 300H w/2 410mkII cabs.. This set up is definitely the boomy winner. I actually have a rubber bottomed bath mat to sit between the TB and the HLF because the little TB was vibrating across the cab and almost fell off. I got lucky and looked back in time to see it half way off the cab and about to fall..

Have you tried a gramma pad to tame the cab a bit? The low end out of those cabs can be quite overwhelming especially on a wooden stage.

Question for orange people:

It's thrown all over on this forum, that it's never a good idea to mix a 410+115, but I see many orange users do it.

How does this combo work? I've played the Orange OBC 410 before and was impressed.

I had the same setup, but i sold this cab and bought 2 SP212 for carrying purposes! This combination is a bit cleaner then 2 SP212 and a bit more low end at lower volumes

On the advice of a a few on here, I ordered a couple of 5751s to try and smooth things out a bit. While I like the grind, I don't need it right now. I got a GrooveTube 12AT7 from Guitar Center, and it did, indeed, smooth out the gain--it was nice and buttery. But way too microphonic. So I ordered a couple of US made JAN 5751s--they should be here monday or tuesday. We'll see...

It is amazing how much of a difference the tubes make.
I am fortunate enough to have a supplier that tests the tubes before selling them (they apparently reject a lot even the expensive ones)
I noticed a big difference between the stock jj tubes and the premium tested jj tubes. The later sounded more full and were slightly smoother to my ears.
If you can get some premium tested jj ecc83 they do make a nice upgrade without loosing the volume/character of the amp. All imho.

Thanks for the tip! These are coming tested from the Tube Depot--I'll let you know how they sound!

I understand, sir. The only reason I'm here is because I just so happened to be in the market for a new amp after 4 years, and I just so happened to come across a GREAT deal from a fellow TB'er on this rig, who just so happened to be an hour and a half drive from me.

In other words, I lucked out. :hyper:
