I have not seen a speakon without a 1/4" option in it that had a round center hole large enough to fit a 1/4".

If you have a solid state power amp test it with that. Solid state amps don't need to see a speaker load to stay happy.

Or you could do the 9v battery test?

You are the man Andrew!! It says right on the plug 1/4 combo I have been staring at this beautiful amp going crazy not being able to play it thanks again.

Congratulations SirMjac! I love mine. I'm running it through 2-OBC115's. Glorious tones to my ears and I bet that OBC410 sounds great as well.

Just retired my Ampeg v4bh and 6x10 for outdoor gigs only....this is now my club go to rig. Sweet.

Congratulations SirMjac28!!!
And sorry I came that late to the Party. Yes, all Orange speakons that I have seen have a dual input. Some 410s have a horn with controls on the back, some do not.

410s are great cabs. I parted ways with mine because the 115 was more than enough for rehearsing and I needed to give my finances a boost. You get more for a 410 than for a 115 and besides, I was not using the 410 anyway.

Now I'm thinking of getting a second 115 to have more clean volume.

That does not mean I have given up on the 10s. Like I said, great sound. But you know, dreaming on getting an 810 fridge and hooking a Thunderverb 200 to it.


I am more than happy to give numbers to anyone who asks, but first get the pr0n flowing ;)


P.S. has anyone tried a Rockerverb 100 with bass? I could get my paws on one for cheap, but can't try it first…

I love my AD200BMk3.

I had the 410 but sold it as I liked the 115 better. I was going to get two Orange 115s but I found two Trace 1153ts that are just awesome. They sound very much like the Orange 115.

A word on the 410. It is a killer cab but it sounds best LOUD. At lower small gig volumes it is boomy. When you crank it, it becomes more balanced. I lined mine and it smoothed out the mids cut some boom. I also required it as it showed up reading 16 ohms. I loved the cab, in a way, but liked my Eden 410xlt more.

If I recall to remove the chassis you go in through the back. Remove the rear grill. I think.

I'm using New Tung Sols. My tech burned them in and biased it up. The AD200 is designed to be biased on the cool side so powe tubes last and last. It's been two years since On the Tubg Sols. The 12AX7s are the originals, now 11 years old.

I played guitar through it at a gig. My Fender Blues Jr. was picking up some horrid hum so I plugged the orange into a Mesa 412 guitar cab. Sounded incredible. In fact, the guitarist I play with bought one for guitar.

I use three EQ settings: bass and treble at 0, mids at 7. This is close to flat. A pure sound with fat mids and natural highs. I use this setting with active basses. It's heaven with a Sadowsky. Setting 2 is everything at noon, adjust for the room. It is the Orange sound. Setting 3 I use for passive basses, and that is bass treble mids dimed. At this setting treble acts as a mixer between bass and mids.

Every bass I've played through it sounds killer, except for EBMM basses with the 2 band. My Sadowsky sounds great, my Warwick sounds great, P and Jazz bases sound great, my G&Ls sound great. In some ways it's the best amp I've owned, and I've had lots over the bast 28 years.

Great info thanks so much I'm loving the sound I was looking for something different and this AD200B fits the bill.

That's really very accurate and what I find so different is the AD200B has an almost neutral sound my 78' P sounds clearer than it did with my Heritage SVT now that amp is everything people say it is and then some but because the EQ is so powerful it almost renders the tone control on your bass useless. TMARK I like your settings and I'm looking to get a classic Ray you don't like the sound?
