Yeah they are still high end prices! But well worth it. The Head is cheaper than a new SVT-CL...and in my opinion, a little bit nicer (especially with how it looks).

Im sure the cab prices are on par with Ampeg...a little higher.

Thanks for member number x

The Ampeg costs 2 or £300 more in uk! and heavier! IMO, You just can not beat the sound of and AD200b cranked up. ...

A couple years ago I played a Geddy Lee Jazz through an AD200B/410/115 rig. The tone was delicious and had me wondering how on earth I could justify spending that much money on a bass rig.

The cheapest I've found a new AD200B is about $1800US (plus about 8% sales tax since we don't have VAT included in our prices) and don't see used ones all that often. I recently bought a barely used SVT-CL for about $1000US (including tax and a two year parts/labor warranty). That's still a lot of money and I'll have to decide in the next couple weeks whether to keep it or not.

Orange gear is expensive but the quality and sound makes it worth the price u pay plus as stated earlier they hold their value unlike other brands. Looking forward to the new Bass Terror it will be nice to have a little more affordable Orange bass amp that can be used as something more then a practice amp.

Orange AD200b in UK brand new is around £1300. Luckily I got mine cheaper as I bought some other gear and a matching 4x10 (and yeah Im going for the 1x15 asap too..sweet cabs).

Ampeg SVT-CL is around £1429 +

I was offered a discounted artist price on the Ampeg, but the Orange is just...well look at them...amazing. I will one day try get an SVT-CL head as well though.

Dont get me wrong, I still love Ampeg, and I love my 810E....a beast of a cab...but Orange swayed it with excellent styling, excellent sound, and also a very good guarantee.

Still...still want an SVT-CL!

They tend to balance each other out, the 10s reinforcing what the 15 doesn't have and vice versa.

Two ways to look at picking "just one" (IMHO of course):

1. Tonally, if you were "stuck" with only one cabinet (meaning that you'll buy one now but for some reason, won't be able to buy the other in the future), would you prefer 10s or the 15? Your profile shows a bunch of 12s, so I'm not sure which you'd prefer.

2. Cash flow. Can you afford the more expensive of the two now (considering "what if?" in your financial life)? If so, now would be the time to do it as it would lighten the burden to add the other in the future (when other things might be different).

Good luck!!!
