You only have to bias (some) power tubes (lower wattage amps are cathode biassed), so your Orange is just plug and play.


Personally I'm gonna swap the stock tubes for a couple of JJ's and keep the originals as a backup.
Although they usually last for decades they can go microphonic and I think a backup won't be too much of a luxury...

Soundwise I don't think I will hear a lot of difference, but if I have to buy some new ones I'm just gonna get those that are supposed to be the good stuff.

This is at home, obviously, but I'm sure it will stand it's ground at gigs too!

They say the TB has the same preamp as the AD200, so it sounds similar, but the solid state final makes it less doomy.
And you can mix a bit; low preamp gain doesn't add much tube character, setting it just before breakup sounds more like the AD200.

haha thanks yeah its definitely very orange. I've tried everything but this honestly is the biggest dirtiest set up i have ever heard. Its incredible for heavy stuff/stoner metal stuff and vintage sounds.
For clean sounds the ad-200 has a great warm and full sound, like nothing i have ever heard. I love it - just gain, treble, mid, and volume. Thats all you need.
With strong active basses it tends to peak a little
